Well, my Logitech G400 mouse arrived and I get to try it out this evening. Just a quick question though, what DPI setting do people use it at? Do you change the DPI during the game, or re-programme those buttons for in game commands?

    Thanks!

Im not entirely sure what my dpi setting is, i think its on the 3rd highest. You'll want it so its not to slow or quick. When ur ingame have it so you have to move ur hand at about say 10inches yo make a 180. Low sensitivity in general is much better than a high sensitivity.

You can't use those buttons ingame. I should be on later aswell.

Ah nice one, thanks! I was thinking that, it's about finding a balance between being able to turn quickly enough, but still being able to aim well.

And for once, I have some advice to give! :) You can use those buttons in game. If you download Logitech's Game software for that mouse, you can set up a Black Ops profile ( in fact, it'll detect you have Black Ops installed and set up a default profile for you ). Then you can edit that profile, assign commands to those buttons ( I was thinking Lethals, Tactical and Equipment ), set the Profile as 'Persistent' and then it'll work in the game.

Of course, that does mean that you can't then change the DPI while playing ( which is what those buttons normally do ) so that makes it even more important to pick a DPI setting you're happy with I guess...

Should see you on later again so! We can find a quiet section on a large map and get that bloody Sentry Gun if you want! :)

Found this online and thought some of you might find it handy. It's by GeForce but nearly all the tips they give regarding settings aren't graphic card specific.

    http://www.geforce.com/Optimize/Guides/blackops-tweak-guide

I ran through it myself and lo and behold I am able to play Black Ops on much higher settings than I thought I could ( I basically just installed it and away I went, never really looked into it ). Now I have it running at 1600 x 1200 with everything pretty much on the highest setting, and still getting framerates in the 50s in MP. So it looks a lot sharper and more detailed now! :)

Unfortunately, that hasn't made me a better player though! :) Still getting a K/D ratio of around 0.3. Have played a few Tactical Crouching games, which at least are slower paced which helps me, but no matter what I play, it feels like everyone else can aim accurately and fire & kill me so much quicker than I can. Sometimes it just feels like someone sees me and gets a headshot almost instantly. It's all about practice I suppose, though I'm still trying to suss out the best DPI for my mouse, and the best 'in game' Mouse Sensitivity. I figure I may as well set it to a good setting and get used to it, then get used to a bad one & have to change again later! :)

I had to install a config aswel. Think it just changed the cpu settings. Smooth as anything now at max settings.

Practice makes perfect :) gotta remember some pc players have been playing shooters on pc for 10+ years. Aim transferable well between games.

Ah Magill ( if that is indeed your real name! :) ), you must be sick of all my questions by now! :)

What was that config you installed, can you remember?

    Thanks!
