Well, not really mine, it's a print of a watercolour commissioned by IE. A number of them were framed for best-kept station awards.

Hopefully Victor will sort the above messing out - certain posts here and on the ITG thread have been reported in - by me at least - just not good enough having to endure this personalised infantile nonsense !!! :(

You will find Im quite mature most of the time. The fact the same user keeps coming back under new usernames purely to stir things up and cause trouble annoys me also, so its not just you

@ steamengine, I also contacted Victor regarding some of the posts. I know I'm new but frankly, I'm getting sick of every thread I start to follow, descending into a troll-fuelled bun fight.

It's hard to do, but if everyone ignores the troll, he will soon tire and 'normality' can resume.

I see one of the EGVs has been removed from one of the DD sets. 208 is on HEP on one set and one of the IC 201s,( 227,8 or 231) is on another set in HEP mode.

My information is there is only one genny van set operating at present.

Yep, that's what I noted today. I think it's 207 that's on the EGV set. I was waiting for the third to enter service and they go and take one off. Strange that if it did develop a problem that they could not replace it with one of the other two vans.

230 with set 9002 was on the 7:35 ex Connolly and 227 with set 9004 was on the 11:00 ex Connolly today. No sign of that EGV coming back into service still only one van running.

A list has been posted on IRN of all the remaining CIE/IE locos. If it's correct, then all of the stopped 201s have been stripped to some extent, and 211 is missing an engine and generator. They're not coming back any time soon.

That'll be the next excuse for not expanding railfreight. "Sure lads, no problem, we'll do your run from Ballina to North Esk... just pay for the refit of 211 with a new 710ECO and all the trimmings"

Of course, if I was IE CEO and wanted to squeeze the most out of the 201 fleet I'd be talking to my opposite number in NIR about a swap of 201/DD sets for 22K/First sets, both for crew/spare unit efficiencies on both sides of the network and better fit of performance (Enterprise having to cope with DART and the twisty bits in the North whereas Intercity has more 100mph track and KRP). Maybe IE could take the Gatwicks too as part of the deal to close out Assembly members' awkward questions about them being a huge waste of money - it's not like the Transport Committee in the Oireachtas can't be bamboozled as usual if the subject comes up of why IE would buy useless stock by throwing them the bone of lads selling sleepers on the sly or something.

Got a 201 question for anyone in the know. I was looking at the connections on the front of the loco, there is what appears to be an electrical socket with a flip cover like comando 3ph socket. I'm guessing this is the connection for multiple working (I know IE do not allow it for the 201s) as the two HEP sockets are under the buffers?

Anyway looking back through old photos of the 201s, this socket used to be low down on the bodywork just before the underframe skirt started. Then from about 1997 modification work seems to have been done to move it just under the main headlights offset by the brake hose. All 201s seem to have had this modification except 201 and 204 from what I can see.

Anyone know why and why 201 and 204 were left out? It's nothing to do with push pull 201s as 202-3,5-34 all had it done.
