Saab 9-5 Aero Estate.NCT until December.Full Saab history until 160k, specialist since. All documents to prove history. Mechanically car is spot on. Drives well, is stable and rattle free. 5 Speed manual No gearbox noises. Clutch good.Bodywork needs tidying, but interior is in excellent nick. Barely a hint of wear. Everything electrical works. Air Con blows cold, an indication of the level of Maintenance this car has had.e1300 but would take an offer. This is a cheap, comfy, practical, fast, reliable car as it is. Cash preferred. Agreed, but I would be telling him all the same. Point I was trying to make to the OP is that he needs to do the belt himself.
Cheap car @ 2 monkeys, to be fair, still I wouldn't buy the "belt is done" crap.

Belt, tensioners, pump 3-400 ?
knock a year + motoring out of it, flip it for more than it cost & what was put into it.......

Euro cars always hold value in Aus/NZ My brother in law used to bring in Alfas every so often, fix them up(Alfa mechanic) and flog them on for nuts money. He could get €8,000 for a car we would get €1,000 for.

Even a VW Polo will hold its value better than a Holden Commodore and be worth more after 10 years.

LOL needs a front kidney grille, love how all the pics are angled away so you dont notice it!

Also, manual front windows on an e36? have never seen that before, no sunroof, no arm rest (I really missed this when I traded up from my e36 to the e46), must be real paddy-spec, but the fact that it has front fogs & colour-coded bumpers and skirts would say otherwise.

Also, is that a cheapo aftermarket rear-view mirror? Mine was an auto-dim one.

On the plus side, bodywork looks very straight, no rust which tend to plague that model, nice unbuckled rims and tyres that look new enough.

Still though having known the e36 I wouldnt buy that one, not enough extras that before seeing that one I would have considered as standard on an e36.

And NCT folks won't release previous test results to verify previous readings during their tests. Is there any sure fire way of detecting a clocked motor?

Verify the service history. Look for old nct Certs. Receipts etc
