Its not ballsy imo, its stupid. They have been stopped three times and now have shown no faith in their kicker. Now they expect him to come on the field and level the game. I think thats a terrible thing to do, its just putting thoughts in his head that he doesn't need.

Cundiff doesn't make 50 + yard field goals. It's either take a chance, or just give them the ball back and let them run down the clock.

It's game over now but it was the right decision to go for it.

I think he's professional enough to know himself that he wouldn't be making it from that distance.

Most kickers will factor in the wind etc in the warm ups and let the coach know what distance he can make it from.

I suspect Cundiff's was nearer 40 than 50 +.
