    I was updating my facebook this evening and got into a debate over my pronunciation of the word status? How do boardies here say the word?

    I say sta-tus. I say "data" the same way.

    Maybe I'm wrong but I always considered sta-tus to be UK English and stay-tus to be US English.

    I notice option two (currently on 52 votes) is spelt sta-thus, but since when was there a H in Status? > this is a pronunciation I have never come across before in my entire life!

    I would say status, as in Status Quo, while others would say Staa-tus, but never sta-thus :confused:

    I say Stah-tus...and i do believe i'm correct.

    Stay-tus is the american pronounciation and we all know how they mess up pronounciations with their tomay-toes and boo-eeys (buoys)

    I don't pronounce it the same as the Americans do. The same goes for "data".
