    Some Answers :
    Across Down
    19 Kilo 4 Ninepin
    28 Cosmos 6 Elmont
    48 Four 20 Escort
    55 James 39 Belfast
    87 Canavan 64 Madeira
    88 DeVries 66 Captured

I'd like your opinion on two clues:
31 Across - Is the answer AYED or EYED? The clue is fairly vague.
81 Across - I think the answer is THE NOD. But this is two words and the clue says (6) - meaning one six-letter word.

    Good Luck

Meant 41D instead of 39D, he gave his opponents a grilling.

    And it is Senna.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3 lorenzola

    11D - Joe Ward
    12D - Capitalise or Capitalize
    14D - St Andrews

Still undecided about 31A being AYED or EYED. Can AYE be a verb?
    I'll probably go with EYED

Would go for EYED, the close watch is pointing moter towards eyed rather than AYED which would be "in agreement"
Almost finished. Must fill in the gaps and see what's left. Thanks to all for the shared knowledge.

Dont get yenta???? Could someone educate me??????!!!!

Likewise I cant see the connection with YENTA, the letters are there as are SENNA. Silver screen story hints of a film. Is there a Film called YENTA, Haven't had a chance to google.
Dont quite follow ESCORT for 20 down. I know it was car. Is it the mark 2 model that points towards ESCORT!!!
    Any offers on
50 dn "Initially they were stumped by the shorter game" (1,1,1) ?D?Thats me done for this year. Been quite a challenge.

Just found the solution. NOSEY TANNER is an anagram AYRTON SENNA
Will go with ESCORT being mark 2 model.
Still doubt about 63 dn "Off course, but on the mark for Sky". Looks more like ROE the golfing commentator. FOY if he's a cyclist could also be correct.
