    Happy christmas everyone.
Does anybody know of a very good vet for dogs in the general galway area or surrounding counties?
We got a springer for a lad about 9 months ago and he could never put on weight even though he was very well fed and wormed he looked like a starved dog. Brought him to 2 vets and to be honest neither seemed to have a clue what was wrong. He died the other day but now our pointer seems to be showing the same signs and we really don't want to lose him.

I had a bull terrier bitch that showed similar symptoms years ago, she was wormed regularly but always looked wormy. I am not recommending this as a solution to anybody but I used a small amount of ivermec pour on. The results were unbelievable within three days. Dronatol just didn't seem to be shifting the worms but the ivermec got her clear and then dronatol maintained her.

I hope you get to the bottom of it. Is the dog outside or housed inside. I would replace all bedding if possible to see if it makes a difference

Perhaps post a thread in the Animal & Pet Issue forum too.

Thanks lads for all the advice we will try anything.
Yeah the dogs have been done for everything and are actually in newly built kennels with rubber matting that are always kept very clean.
