In all fairness, people are using using your land because you haven't built anything on it.

Build a house with a farm and people wont go near it.

If i wanted to test some traps/redstone stuff and i seen a nice open plot of land, it'll be tempting

Yup. I have a line of dirt around the area I want. I'll make a start on the perimeter of the home to make it a little more obvious.

Exactly , a line of dirt isn't going to stand out , especially since its covered with grass, try planting all your saplings there. It'll keep people out and give you close access to wood
