I decided today that I was going to buy that latest Tim Hecker, walked down to Tower Records after work all set to make my purchase to find it out of stock The planned spend however certainly did not go to waste, ended up with this instead which is just shockingly good and absolutely in with some of the best music I've heard this year!

Finally, the album I'm pretty excited about but haven't got it yet is 'In Dust' by Roll The Dice - I have the vinyl & CD box set on the way as a gift at Christmas, cannot wait to drop the needle on it sometime Christmas day with a glass of wine in hand and tin of quality street nearby...

Oh finally, and I know this is most likely against the grain but there is one track that has really annoyed me this year and that's 'The Glorious Land' by PJ Harvey - I absolutely hate the frequent burst of bugle, very annoying!

And here's a few other things that might have slipped by that i also enjoyed.
Wise Blood had an EP during the year that's magic. Ukulele master Peter Delaney had his Duck Egg Blue Album re-released and it is one of the most enjoyable things i've ever heard. EMA,Mark McGuire, J Masics , M83, Decemberists, Austra and Nic Jaar all had brilliant albums that i'd urge everyone to listen to more than twice. And the new Wilco album is there best since A Ghost is Born. A live Sigur Ros album is just out last month and it's a good as you'd expect. I'm sure i'm forgetting loads more.

Song wise - Frank Ocean's Novocain, Joe Goddards Gabriel and tuneyards bizness also are worth alot of listens. And a special mention to Lying on a Deathbed by Jape. Such talent to be able to leave this song off the album.
