Noel Gallagher is the greatest songwriter of the last 25 years.

If there are traces of the Beatles in some of his songs, that is not a bad thing.

He has written many songs which will be sang for hundreds of years.

    His new album is terrific.

    He is fantastic live.

Don't believe the cliches you heard in 1994 - open your ears.

Through someone very close to in a medical profession to when Martins daughter was dying apparently he was the epitome of calm and respect. Never tried to use his position to gain any favours and was a straight talker and took all that happened very bravely.

I'm no FF but the man did his daughter proud and courted no publicity for it so respect for that.

EDIT:sorry very badly worded. Someone i know treated his daughter and met Martin regularly and thought he was a very genuine fella.

Im not dissing the guy as a person, and I would give him massive credit for the dignity with which he and his family carried themselves during that awful time,my point is that as a politician,I just dont find him particularly engaging or sincere...but that could be just my cynicism for politicians coming out..

Breaking news on RTE... More good news courtesy of our previous FF masters..

IL&P deal collapse to cost taxpayer €1.3bn
The taxpayer is going to have to put more than €1.3bn into Irish Life & Permanent after the sale of the its life insurance division collapsed. The Irish taxpayer is going to have to put a further €1.3bn into Irish Life and Permanent, it has emerged tonight. A planned sale of the group's life assurance company Irish Life has been called off due to the euro crisis.
If the deal had proceeded it would have saved the taxpayer from footing the bill for the recapitalision. In a statement, the Department of Finance said it had informed IL&P that none of the bids received to acquire Irish Life were acceptable at the present time.

It really is shocking level or retards that we have running this country.. They made sure to bury the story late on a Friday night...
