They were a bargain at the time (Think it was around £12500 or so) You couldn't get a new 1.0 Yaris for that at the time. I seem to remember Golf 1.4s were around £20,000 punts at the time too.

    Quick question everyone:

When selling a car do you have to declare all the new parts you have put into a car? Or what about its bad parts, do you have to put them in the ad?

No and no. Caveat emptor and all that. It's up to the buyer to know what he is buying. If the buyer asks a question, answer it honestly though. That's the legal angle.

The moral angle is a bit different for me. I honestly advertise the car and explain what's good and what's bad.

    Ah I see :)

Just I saw the Fiesta I worked on a few months ago (thread about it, buyer says engine was useles) for sale with no mention of the new engine put in or the impending driveshaft failure

Looking plenty for it too if I may add!

Probably par for the course over there...

Remember we have the cheapest older cars in the world right here in Ireland!

I think UK is cheaper. Not much, but still...

Probably so for newer cars, but 10 year old petrol saloons in near perfect condition with low miles for €1k is Ireland only for sure.

Too true. The son of one of the lads in the job was looking for a car over there recently. He didn't think it would be too bad until he got a price for a 02 Holden Barina (Opel Corsa).......€6,500.
