Have been catching up on all of ST:TNG as CBS Action have been showing 3 episodes a day ( Sky Plus is very handy! ).

We're just at the end of Season 6 now, and I loved this scene. Data's face at the end is perfect...

Season 6, the golden era of TNG :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,313 ✭✭✭jasonb

    Yes indeed!

I can't find a clip, but the previous episode to that one ( 'Second Chances' ) had a great Worf / Data scene as well...

Data - "If you met a double of yourself, would you have difficulty interacting with him?"
    Worf - "I think so."
    Data - "Why?"
Worf - "I am not easy to get along with."
Data nods and confirms this, Work gives him a look

Yep, but to be fair to the writers, if you look at the time on the video when he puts the kettle on, and then again when it boils, it is actually around 51 seconds! :)

Saw this again today. Made me laugh

Will Wheaton had just cut ahead of him in line to see Indiana Jones and the new 12 seconds edition :p That first contact scene was so good it's even great when people parody it.

He remembers it fondly too! :)

Love the Sheldon/Wheton rivalry in TBBT. All stems from the 1995 Dixie Trek Convention.

    Loved the scene at the end of Gambit: Part 2, when Picard quotes;

He's supposed to be dead, and so he's off tho get some sleep. And he jokingly says to Data, that Riker is facing treason charges, so take him to the brig.

and the scene closes out with data taking Riker by the arm and escorting him to the brig, with Riker pleading that Picard was just kidding. :D

    Wikipedia wrote:
EnemiesSheldon has rivalries with two of his co-workers: Barry Kripke and Leslie Winkle,[63] however, the person Sheldon considers to be his "mortal enemy" is Wil Wheaton which stems from Wheaton's canceling an appearance at a science fiction convention in Jackson, Mississippi that Sheldon had gone to some lengths to attend years previously. In Season 3, the two encounter each other at a customizable card game tournament, and Sheldon's antipathy towards Wheaton is heightened when Wheaton uses gamesmanship to defeat him in the tournament. Sheldon's animosity towards Wheaton is further reinforced during a bowling face-off between Sheldon's team and Stuart's team, on which Wheaton is substituting for another player. However, Wheaton and Sheldon make up when Wheaton gives Sheldon his last mint copy of his action figure, causing them to be friends. After Wheaton gives Sheldon a mint condition, unopened and signed Wesley Crusher figure, Brent Spiner grabs it and opens it, causing Sheldon to add Spiner to his "mortal enemies list", maintaining the number of names at 62.

ah, its not Star Trek...that explains my huh moment :o

Sheldon travelled all the way there to get him to sign his "Wil Wheaton" doll and then he didn't show up....so Wheaton topped sheldon's mortal enemy list.

Later, Wheaton acutally did sign a doll for him but then Brent Spiner came and took the doll out of its packaging. So Data tops the list now :p

Seen a great episode today. Picard was talking about making model ships in a bottle and he was asking anyone if they did the same.

Worf says- I do not play with toys, in that classic Worf way that he does.

Then Chief O'Brien chimes in and said I did. And Riker gives him a look as if he is sucking up to the Captain. When they leave O'Brien says to Riker I did, I really did, ships in bottles, great fun.

Classic Trek dialogue and a great episode to boot.

I love Chief O'Brien shouting 'Ah bollocks!' when a panel explodes in the DS9 episode "Time's Orphan". Classic!

I know there will be lots of heartfelt moments listed on this thread, but, as far as fcuking awesome moments go, it has to be this scene...

I remember seeing that and was waiting for the next season where the Federation would give the Dominion a good kicking.
    Nope
Loss after loss was piled on the Fed/Klingon Alliance

It was definitely one of the best moments of the season. How many times had we heard about a fleet of ships, only to see 10-15 ships fly in. This was a proper 100+ fleet, like we'd always imagined. Loved it :D

This as well was a testament to how dark the show was at times. Most other show's would have the good guys winning, or at least holding their own. But they really were getting kicked about the quadrant for a while.

I gotta go watch some DS9 now :P

For me, the episode where the Federation head off to battle the Dominion and Worf has gone to get the Klingons and then the Fed need to basically go and fight without the Klingons.

Things aren't going well... the camera pans out and then numerous green plasma blasts come down on the Z-axis and there's a fleet of Klingon ships coming out of the sun kicking ass and then genius Worf comedic value "Sorry we are late"

Also..when the Cardis change sides in the last ep, it's just fcuking awesome, all of a sudden you can see the fact a proud people who have realised they've been oppressed under the Dominion and that the Founders who they thought would propel them to masters of the Alpha quadrant are in the process of committing genocide and bang they snap and start hitting the dominion ships!

One of the few moments that can give me goosebumps due to sheer awesomeness. Damar added to the turnaround so much too, what a show DS9 was

The nebula scene in Best of Both Worlds. Great sense of tension.
