O2 have a special treat offer today where you can choose 3 songs to download for free.

As an O2 customer you can download 3 free songs on iTunes every Friday between now and December 16th 2011.

NOTE: Offer means that you will get a few txt's every Friday about every possible concert on in the 02. You can't txt stop back to the same number, then you try another number that they give you to cancel it and it takes a few annoying calls to customer service to get you off this which takes (up to 10 days, modern technology ???)

Basically you will have a hard time stopping this once you sign up.

Also note that the credits expire so if you don't use them you can't keep them forever.

Yeah it was five songs last year, but better something than nothing. Hopefully the 12 days of xmas app will be out soon with better freebies this year.

Am I doing something wrong? I have my three credits, but when I go to buy, it keeps bringing me to my billing page to charge my credit card.

Are you getting txt for The O2 after registering to the offer for free songs? I got free sonds last year and never got a txt about the concerts.

I think you can only get songs not full albums, I just tested and got a song for €1.29


Also If you have more than 1 O2 account you can get 3 songs per account in the same Itunes account.

Had no problems last year, tried a single 99c song there now, and still being brought to the CC billing page.

I downloaded via Itunes App not on the PC software as in work so cannot test, did u try to log-off and log-on again?

Is it possible you previously bought a song that wasn't paid for? I found that I was able to buy an album on an out-of-date payment method once that went through, but I couldn't make any more transactions until I added a new, valid method

Positive. Dont usally download, still prefer buying CDs.

Sussed it, logged out and back in, and even though was not using my CC, had to verivy it as soon as I logged back in, as had not purchased of the site in so long.

FYI if you have registered on the O2 site with more than one O2 mobile number (I have my spare O2 & my mum's O2 number registered on the site) you can get 3 free songs for each number. Just tried it and now have 6 free songs.

Signed in too late and codes expired 5-10 minutes before midnight so missed on downloading the 3 free songs!

how does this work? i got the codes but when i tried to buy a song worth €1.29 it says i have insufficient credit. is there a certain songs that can only be redeemed by this codes?

Will see if the credits reappear on my itunes tonight. After I got the 3 credits late on Friday night they disappeared 10 minutes before midnight and thought they had expired already. Must read the terms and conditions to see what it states.

Hi, mine still there, they expire the 31st Dec, that was the message on the Itunes after they got added.

last year you couldn't buy albums only single songs.

but what would stop someone going in and buying 18 individual songs off one album (rather than clicking "purchase album") - then you have the album anyways.

Yes you can do that, I think some albums are sold in full not as single songs

I was able to get a €1.29 song on friday for free as my credit card is not saved, if you got charged you should contact them.

If you open Itunes on the top right you should see how many credits are left (left of your email address) or click on "Account" under the "Quick Links" top right, after on "Purchase history" click on "Show All" and you should see there if you got charge or not.

My credits have not returned since they disappeared only 5 minutes after getting them on Friday night.

Will have to wait until Friday again to get some

Seems like you were too late to get the credits, happened to me a few weeks ago. There is a limit to the amount of people who can avail of it.

Each week if you get the 3 and don't use them, they stay on the account until December 31st

That's what's supposed to happen. You get one coupon every Friday. The coupon expires on that Friday. If you don't get it then, you can't get it later.

Once you do get it, you get 3 song credits added to iTunes
