Engine overhauled, new timing belt, new head gasket etc. all done approx 6-7 years ago.

So its been sitting in a yard for 6-7 years.
The engine was running last year

which I assume means its not now
Would make a good project car or parts.

    parts....

Buy this one too and you might get a full car :P

I'm pretty sure you can sell UK plates. If I was him I would have sold it a long time ago as someone with a scooby would love that plate and pay a nice sum for it.

Only some plates can be sold or transferred - it’ll say so on the v5. The car also needs a valid MOT

I always find it strange when car ads block out the cars reg, but this is a new one:

That's bizzare. A mate of mine ran one of those old CL500s as a daily work van up to about 2 years ago, he was a locksmith with his small bag of tools in the boot. Reckoned he got about 12mpg average.
    But it was a beauty.

    Clamps on all wheels.....
    No....
Different alloys going with sale most definitely...

Haven't seen a photo shop that bad in a while.

  • Registered Users Posts: 73,438 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

And then shows a pic of a wheel. Possibly on another car?

I’m gonna guess it has wheels from an e class or something that are way too small. You can see a bit of a wheel in the side pic and it looks like a steel wheel?

I think it's time for a new thread.

"How not to sell a car"

That ad, adds with terrible photoshops, pics of cars parked in lakes, ads with one pic, ads with "testing the waters, not pushed in selling", Michael J Fox blurry photosgtophy etc.

So so many MUPPETS out there. Donedeal should charge €50 per ad and it might stop these fools.

I love the night-time adverts, the ones when all you can see is a set of headlights.

Listed as a 3 series and 325 mentioned. I'd say seller inherited car or something, an elderly relative of mine died recently and he has 4 classics, family advertised them for sale but huge mistakes on the ads which was a big no no in the classic world, the exact year and model is a big thing.

    Nice reg number too!

Bizzare ‘tedious’ badging from BMW back in the day,

Nice, would prefer without the flood sun roof in a car that old though.

Looks classy and I know the brown exterior is factory, not sure what the story is with the interior is but it looks gorgeous colourmatch in the pics . The t.v.screens in the back of the front headrests look like overkill so definitely added aftermarket at some point imo

Edit bought my oil pump eating, engine imploding silver lumpback Corolla from the same seller on the backroad to portmarnock

That's way too much brown to bring into anyone's life. It would be like driving a turd.

    12mpg :-0
    Surely that can't be right.

When you take stop start stuff into account I'd say it's right. He's always had big cars like 5 series petrol and e class doing mid 20s mixed but he said CL500 was ridiculous and had to get rid. He bought an SL after that. 300 or 320 I think can't remember which

They had a rare SOL model with leather back then but motorcheck says that one is a Luna model. Dealers could get leather fitted after market though but it was still expensive. Screams ex taxi to me.

For a beast like that is sounds fine.

Here's one to work out, I use 50l of fuel a week over the course of 220km. Find the MPG.

My car, while relatively powerful, is a mere 1.3 :pac:

But would I be right in saying taxed as 1.8.....

Most noteworthy thing here is that was obviously built in early 2004 at the latest - and not registered till 2006. Keep in Avensis was selling like hot cakes in 2004/2005 and dealers were being eaten alive for them. The colour must’ve been putting people off. I’d say it was registered just before the facelift “Remastered” model came or in mid ‘06.

Leather is aftermarket, as are the rear screens.

At least that explains the call out fees!
