I'd love to see him run in the next General Election . . either as an Independent or on a FF ticket and I would particularly like to see him go up against (and defeat) one of the high-profile Sinn Fein candidates . .

Whatever your views are on FF or Sean Gallagher, McGuinness took the election campaign to a real low last Monday night with his Gallager ambush and his bogus phone call to Hugh Morgan.
he would have no chance against mclaughlin in donegal ne, would sweep up votes once enjoyed by coughlan but would not unseat doherty in dongal sw, could get a seat in cavan-monaghan but would not prevent caoimhen whatshis name, adams won't run in louth and could loose seat without gallagher, but even if adams stayed he wont beat the adams machine and FF of Aherne tribe don't like him. so where next?

Sean Gallagher put his head up, tried his case, and came sechond in the race. Fair play to him. While he has his imperfections mostly in trying to distance himself from Fianna Fail at least he had the courage to put his name forward.FF had not the courage as a party to do the same. Congratulations to president elect Michael D Higgins an ex FF man however briefly it was not a question to be asked and rightly so. Really what one must think is its ok for some just a matter of timing, honour our democrosicy and be thankfull we have people who will partake in the process

Rumour has it that Gallagher is joining Morgan in the Fool business... Seems they will supply Green , white , red or even April .. There is also a Loyalty discount so a couple of the guys on here wont go cold this Christmas

While there will always those that abhor Irish gombeenism, there will always be the needy greedy that lick the feet of others, hoping for a few scraps and favours from their table. ;)

When the latter outweigh the former, we get a country in ruins, and the ordinary taxpayer has to clean up and pay for their mess.

Maybe he'll take the Declan Ganley (remember him) route and not continue on the political road he was on.

I think it's quite ironic SG is involved with this and it's happening in Newbridge Credit Union of all places.

Anyone going along to meet the legend ? Wonder if he is getting a fee and if it's out of public funds?
