SHAME ON BRITAIN

I was watching panorama's special last night on Gaddafi, Britain and the torture trail (i think it was called) and have to say its absolutely disgusting what the British government has gotten up to on behalf of its electorate in the name of national interest with Gaddafi and his butchers.

    To name a few;

Rendition flights of political opponents back to Libya to be tortured to death.

Training the Libyan elite guard by the SAS and supply of arms and torture equipment to murder and torture any opponents of Gaddafi (not in the show but a known fact).

And the icing on the cake letting Gaddafi's number 2, Moussa Koussa, the man responsible for the slaughter of 1200 prisoners in Tripoli, leave the UK, to live a life of luxury in Qatar instead of sending him to the Hague for crimes against humanity.

The thing that annoys me the most about it all though is the fact that this is just the tip of the iceberg in relation to what the British government and MI6 ALLOW to happen under the heading NATIONAL INTEREST.

We all know about the collusion with the Loyalists in the north, arming a terrorist organization to murder innocent people, letting General Pinochet live out the remainder of his life in the UK when he was wanted back in Chile for the murder of thousands upon thousands of innocent people, arming the Sri Lankan government with BAE weaponry to commit genocide against the Tamil Tigers murdering 600,000 civilians in the process, not to mention Iraq and Afghanistan.

So my question to after hours (:pac:) is when will this sort of collusion and turning a blind eye to these atrocities stop. Is it long over due for a British PM to be sent to the Hague to face trial on grounds of crimes against humanity???

    regards.

EDIT. its been pointed out i cant spell. move on.

Why haven't various American presidents be charged with War crimes either? Simples, the winning side never gets charged. Did the Russians get charged for war crimes after WW2 considering how barbaric they were to German civilians? Nope, they walked clean.

    Only the losers get charged.

they bloody should complain actually, the majority of britains did not benefit from the imperialism, Americans too, yet it is them who suffer the terror attacks.

    I don't complain....

I don't like the word terrorist. It implies there's no root to what they're doing.

Just endured the tedium of reading your OP again. No where does it say that it's addressed soley to brits on boards.ie.

Maybe if you wanted responses that are less whimsical and care-free you should have posted somewhere else.

Could you be a bit less diplomatic next time.

Is this in relation to the thread that said the Brits had bigger willies than the Irish?

It does doesn't it, its a penis envy thing.

What Britain and the US do is not politically correct but it works. Look at Britain, controlling most of the world. Look at the Republic of Ireland. Nationalists played their part in terrorism, funded by the USA so its a little hypocritical

Most of the western superpowers negotiated with Libya to stabilise the region and ensure we all benefit from oil. Being able to have these interesting conversations on our computers is pretty dependant on the stuff to keep the lights on and economy moving in the western world.

I would challenge the OP to justify why Ireland has adopted a complete stance of apathy and indifference to the worlds troubles. In-action is as much a crime as stepping in with force and it's easy to criticise others when you dont get your hands dirty. Neutrality should be illegal.

no country acts perfectly. Even sleepy ireland has a level of political corrption and failure that I'm sure a lot of irish citizens are keen to see some accountability for which has never happened.
