I dont understand the whole effects thing.. I mean what's wrong with some good old fashion gameplay!

I much prefer to sit and watch a vid of a gameplay of someone going on a great streak and single handedly winning a game with some nice music than all this super effects editing!

I know there is a huge community that love to make and watch it and that it takes a considerable amount of creativity and skill!!

Just my 2cents.. I dont get it!!

Really good transitions with a few effects and good syncing is the best kind of editing imo.

It depends on whether it's a montage or just gameplay, I think. In a teamtage it's nice to see some good editing/effects but if it's just the one game where you kick ass and take names then I'd just like to see a straight upload of it.

Hate those vids where every single effect is used, looks rubbish. As said above, good transitions and perfect syncing are all they need.

Some decent music too never hurt

lol thanks but they're just gameplay with music with minimum editing. Just drag and drop. Im on about proper editing with cinimatics and shiz. I'd like to know how to do it

To be honest I think its getting worse... When the editing goes as far as that and actually impedes what you are trying to show, that is probably bad editing... If I wanted to look at a big glowing ball, I'd look at the sun :P
