Oh here we go whinge whinge, I put my money in and lost it all took the risk blah blah blah, all investments may go up as well as down. Are you thick?

    Get lost

It's like a regulated version of the Home Payments mess...the money was supposed to be invested correctly to allow for pensions falling due...instead it was funnelled into offshore property.

Directors walk away behind company law.

She can have 10 more if she wants, but she shouldn't come moaning that she wants extra money to look after 1 or more of them,

Why do people always say "if this was the states they'd be in jail now"?

The americans invented the ponzi scheme

Why in God's name did he put it all in the one company... ??? Did he ask Gay Byrne for financial advice?

Why did he put ALL his money in with them? So many people were very very foolish with their money.

Why are they not in jail?

    Lack of willingness and evidence

I think they are different in that Home Payments were not meant to be investing their clients money in offshore property !!

These guys with CHC rolled the dice, took their chances on massive gains and lost. Simples.

If you cannot afford to lose it then don't gamble it.

Greed greed greed - Gordon Gecko (Michael Douglas in Wall Street) is wrong, greed is not good !

    http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/finance/2011/1022/1224306297214.html

THE HIGH Court has appointed a liquidator to the Dublin investment firm Custom House Capital after Central Bank inspectors found “systemic and deliberate misuse” of more than €56 million of client funds.

[edit] Exactly like Home Payments, except it was regulated and the funds are multiples of the sums lost.

Bankers, not living in the real world - bingo!

She is merely looking for a disability payment to help fund therapies that her child needs and the HSE can't provide.

    They wouldn't be stoned.

This has happened in every western nation on the planet. Ireland isn't the only country in the world where poor pension management has taken place

the greedy bankers, it was their fault Joe.

    Eh?

Property based investments:rolleyes: This country was like Albania. So many people bought in to this property bubble. I'm not sure my sympathy can stretch to them.
What were the pensions board doing? Same thing as the regulator.

Yeah Joe. I invested my money. That gives me the right to abdicate all responsibility for managing my affairs in a prudent manner.

It's not poor mamagement...funds were directed to high risk investments without the knowledge of clients.
    Fraudulently so...

I'm no expert in the area of financial management but would it be fair to say that you dont put all your eggs into one basket

I hate to say it but these people who've lost on their property investments, that seemed like a good idea at the time, are the very people that should be getting hit hardest in order to balance the books.

Well all these angry men should get together and picket these lads homes. Or would they rather ring Joe?

Well, you know what, if that was me and my child, I would spend my money on the child I already have, before popping out more and expecting the state to pick up the tab...

Harsh realities of life, but if HSE can't/won't pay, then you as the parent have to. It's your duty and responsibility, not anyone else's.
