G4X Hosting a Starcraft2 Tourney

Hey hey!
G4X have just announced their plans for running a Starcraft 2 tournament in Waterford on the 5th of October.
Currently the tournament is set for 16 players however I was told that if the demand is there for spots, they will re-open the tournament for 32 players

Hi Guys, Mark from G4X here.

Just a few points on the thread.

The Rules have been updated, and posted, We were using a basic set up in BETA and I had forgotten to update, map pools and tournament style.

The evening events we hold are mid week as we are also holding all day events starting next month, which will take place at the weekend.

Our all day events will allow players aged 12 and up to attend(with parental consent of coarse)

The all day events will not have alcohol.

This Starcraft event is pre register only, as we need to confirm numbers before the night.

Well it's difficult to make a decision without knowing. I mean ... it costs 10 euro AFAIR, right? Plus the travel expenses. Can I safely say overall it's around 50 euro? And the question is ... basically will the prize cover that?

UPDATE: The date for this event has been changed to the 8th of October(Saturday) due to feedback and also to accommodate gamers from other county's.

Khazidhea: If we confirm 16 players in advance we have budgeted for 80Euro if not more.

Hey NighTxX, sadly for this event we couldn't but for the all day event being held next month the age limit will be 12+ and we will be running SC2 at it

I will follow up with information on that event on Monday when I confirm one last detail

The EGL is the European Gaming League, Its the leader boards we run for our online content and offline events, When you partake in tournaments online or at our events you earn rank points towards your EGL rank.

We are holding events around Ireland over the next 6 months and will be holding a Grand Final in Dublin at the end, the grand final at the end will allow certain gamers to compete for much bigger prizes, the entry fee will also be larger.

I will confirm with the head of our SC2 tournament in the morning.

We are in talks with certain establishments in Belfast to hold events in Ulster.
We will be holding events in all 4 provinces before the grand final.

We want to give all gamers in Ireland the chance to attend and experience our events.

Apoligies, The first all day Event will be held in Cork on the 22nd of October in the Gresham Metropole Hotel. I am awaiting conformation from UCC and CIT so that students for those colleges may avail of a 20% discount.

The event on the 8th in Revs, doors are at 6:30pm the first match in StarCraft2 will start at 7pm, if we get all 16 gamers we hope to have it concluded by 1am.
