ok heading to balinamore in leitrim tomorow morning for an overnight. i have to give a friend a hand with something. i will have afew hours free to go shooting so im bringing the 6.5 with me. is there any deer around there? i was thinking also of going lamping foxes but was told it would be a waste of time as the area is so heavily shot.
anyone know the area or anywhere close by?
anywhere i can get norma ammo up there?
    any advice appreciated
    :D

Have to ask. Have you or your friend permissions for the lands you intend to shoot on? If so why not just go out and look around on them? If neither of you have permissions then don't waste your time bringing the gun.

    Exactly what I was thinking.

I have permission here to shoot. But none that I know that gave deer on them. But if I find an area with deer in it I will look for lawful permission

Just to be clear, and i ask out of curiosity.
    1. You have permission to shoot on lands where your friend lives?
    2. There are no deer on the permissions you have?
    3. You have a deer license?
    4. You are going to go searching for deer?
    5. If you find deer you will ask the land owner for permission to shoot them?
    6. You will then go back, find the deer again and shoot them?
    7. You also want to find some foxes to shoot?

Shoot away and do your own thing.

The reasons i ask are not to "catch you out" or anything. Just the way you are explaining it makes it seems as though you are going up to help your mate, and then just take a stroll out for a deer on lands you may not have permission to be on.

You obviously have a deer license, etc. You know how hard it can be to get permissions off people that ove around you and you know. So how quickly or easily do you think you will get permission from landowners that don't know you.

Does your friend shoot? As said earlier perhaps his permissions would be best used. If he doesn;t and you ant to do this to show him how to stalk deer or lamp foxes then why not invite him down to your permissions and go out on familiar land.
