Did you not get an email confirming that your grant application was accepted?

Nope, just a letter from the VEC office saying they got the application and were forwarding on the application to somewhere in Dublin. Didn't apply for the grant online, filled it out on paper.

My brother did his out on paper and got an email saying that they got it - forwarding it onto Dublin seems strange though if it was the VEC one

Chance showing them that letter so, worst case you have to pay and it gets refunded.

And if you have a copy of the form you submitted, it wouldn't go astray - you could show them the financial figures and they'd have a pretty fair idea if you will be getting the grant or not

Does anyone know if we can pay fees by cheque? I don't have a card that would let me pay €3000 at once.

You dont have to pay all your fees in one single transaction. My laser only lets me pay 2500 euro a day so you just go back the next day to your ucc portal and make another payment until its all payed off.
Youll stil on your financial statement on the ucc portal that you have payed "this much" and have such and such more to pay.

As far as I know you can request a bank giro, if you want to go with this option ring up the fees office ^^

No, you can't. I was in the fees office today and they said that you can't do that anymore.

Ah so they stopped it.. I got one last year & didn't use it.. Maybe that was the case for many more people.

I think its because it costs the college to process them whereas online it does not - if people don't have Laser cards or credit cards, people can buy the 3V cards

    Hi there,

I will be attending UCC ( hopefully ) later this month. I just registered for part 1 online and a bit confused by the whole fee payment set-up on my account.

It states: amount due : 2150e

Then there's a financial statement telling me: 7415e

So, not sure how much i owe now .

the financial statement is how much it will cost in total for your education for the year. If you click on the blue word FEE it should show you your breakdown. You pay the €2150, and the Government will pay the rest of it if this is your first time in college - which I'm presuming it is

The only fee you owe is the fee that is shown under the programme registration tab ->payment of fees. Ignore anything under Fees -> payment of fees, it is only there to show how much in total you are costing the State to put through education. For example under mine, it has debit amount of 38340.00, credit amount of 29840.00 and balance of 8500.00. Since I have paid my €150 with the grant covering the other €2000, it costs the Government the 8500 to put me through college. 38340.0029840.008500.0038340.0029840.008500.00

    Hi Rebelgirl,

    Thanks for replying.

This isn't my first time going into 3rd level - going back as a mature student ( hopefully lol ). I followed what you said in your reply - Under programme registration and then click payment on fees, it's telling me 2150e.

I just hope this is all - if it ends up i'ii have to pay tuition fees anytime soon, it will be most likely, no college for me and that's the reality, unfortunately being unemployed etc etc....

I have done courses twice at level 6 in the past few years both at first year and didn't have to pay tuition fees.

guys paying 2150 with your card might lead to problems due to overzealous anti-fraud measures- AIB are particularly bad, and blame everyone else if transaction fails lol

In the last page or so it's posted that they are discontinued, something to do with processing fee, it's cheaper for the college to accept card payments.

Under payment of fees it said amount due of 2150. I paid this amount with my credit card and it is saying that it is a successful payment. However it still says that there is am amount due of 2150. Did this happen to anyone else?
