Online Registration Issues With Fees

Well, I am trying to pay the 150 capitation fee that I am supposed to pay as part of registration yet when I get to that particular part of the process, there is no option and I can't continue Also, the financial statement contains things that I won't be paying yet I cannot remove them... Does anybody have a similar problem? And if so did you fix it?
    Thanks!
    :)

I was trying to pay the €2150 I'm required to, and had the same problem. I called the number that was shown on one of the error messages, and was told there was a problem with the online payment today. However, it should be functioning again tomorrow.

I paid mine today no problem - only had to pay the 150 euro.

edit: did you try to pay while using off campus internet - I actually was in college doing that part and I know the CS servers are supposed to be down until Tuesday

I can get into my student admin no problem atm, from off campus

The financial statement shows a total of what has been paid by both you and the Governement to the college, so don't worry about that. Did you complete the programme registration and module registration before you tried to pay? Best thing is to go back to the start, and go through each step again, making sure you didn't miss one. Try again tomorrow maybe - it can be a funny system at times

I tried to pay the fees today as well. When I entered all the card details it said don't refresh in red underneath so I left it. Then an error message came up.

Now under E-Payment history the status of that transaction is ' In Progress / Transaction Failed' . Anyone else have this problem? :(

Is this your first time in 3rd level education? If you have attended a college course prior to the one you re registering for now, then you have to pay tuition fees.

If you're using a Laser card and trying to pay more than €1500 the transaction will fail. This is because a Laser card caps a transaction at €1500 - and the max per day is either €2000 or €2500. Keep this in mind if you use your Laser card for something else - eg booking flights / buying college books etc - on the same day you're trying to pay your fees.

Did you try to pay the €2000 all at the one time?? Maybe this could be the cause http://www.ucc.ie/en/sit/news/newsbody-133275-en.html

Did you go into fees tab - you need to click on the registration tab and pay it there.

Rang the fees office and they said thats normal (?), though now that I look for a place to pay there is absolutely no where? >.>

I went into Programme Registration, registered for my programme/modules, and now underneath those 2 parts it says "E-payment History"....but I haven't even gotten out a card to pay for anything with or been asked for any info.....:S

Ive gotten the E-mail of confirmation of registration and all.

People need to register to get access to their Blackboard modules and be registered for their exams by the end of October. You can always see the registration details

Nearly got a heart attack when I saw €7415 :pac:

Was afraid I'd actually registered 3 times...

Luckily, Honours maths solved that particular conundrum for me

Well I was using Mastercard so there shouldn't have been a problem with the limit. I rang the helpline today and the lady told me the Fee's section of registration had crashed the first day and I shouldn't do anything and just wait a day or two :)

I'm trying to register (so that I can pay my fees) and I just get a message saying:
This option has been closed by the University at this stage.
Please contact us with any queries.
    Thank You.

A number of courses in the Arts faculty won't allow you to register before the 9th - what course are you?

I registered yesterday and when it came to the fee's it said amount due is 2150, I have applied for a grant and it said in the welcome pack that if you have applied for or in receipt of a grant you only have to pay 150. So I changed the amount in the pay bit to 150 only and it let me continue on and gave me the confirmation, was I right to just pay the 150?

Yes, I made the mistake of paying it all last year, got it back eventually though. You just have to bring your letter saying you have the grant into the fees and grants office asap.

Also, you can pay the reg fee by bank transfer, so they allow for someone doing that and handing in the receipt later, so it should be fine.

Ok, so do I wait until I get word on whether or not I get the grant? That'll be next year sometime probably  or is it just a letter showing I have applied for it? :)

Nope, just a letter from the VEC office saying they got the application and were forwarding on the application to somewhere in Dublin. Didn't apply for the grant online, filled it out on paper.

My brother did his out on paper and got an email saying that they got it - forwarding it onto Dublin seems strange though if it was the VEC one

Chance showing them that letter so, worst case you have to pay and it gets refunded.

And if you have a copy of the form you submitted, it wouldn't go astray - you could show them the financial figures and they'd have a pretty fair idea if you will be getting the grant or not

Does anyone know if we can pay fees by cheque? I don't have a card that would let me pay €3000 at once.

You dont have to pay all your fees in one single transaction. My laser only lets me pay 2500 euro a day so you just go back the next day to your ucc portal and make another payment until its all payed off.
Youll stil on your financial statement on the ucc portal that you have payed "this much" and have such and such more to pay.

As far as I know you can request a bank giro, if you want to go with this option ring up the fees office ^^

Ah so they stopped it.. I got one last year & didn't use it.. Maybe that was the case for many more people.

I think its because it costs the college to process them whereas online it does not - if people don't have Laser cards or credit cards, people can buy the 3V cards

    Hi there,

I will be attending UCC ( hopefully ) later this month. I just registered for part 1 online and a bit confused by the whole fee payment set-up on my account.

It states: amount due : 2150e

Then there's a financial statement telling me: 7415e

So, not sure how much i owe now .

the financial statement is how much it will cost in total for your education for the year. If you click on the blue word FEE it should show you your breakdown. You pay the €2150, and the Government will pay the rest of it if this is your first time in college - which I'm presuming it is

The only fee you owe is the fee that is shown under the programme registration tab ->payment of fees. Ignore anything under Fees -> payment of fees, it is only there to show how much in total you are costing the State to put through education. For example under mine, it has debit amount of 38340.00, credit amount of 29840.00 and balance of 8500.00. Since I have paid my €150 with the grant covering the other €2000, it costs the Government the 8500 to put me through college. 38340.0029840.008500.0038340.0029840.008500.00

    Hi Rebelgirl,

    Thanks for replying.

This isn't my first time going into 3rd level - going back as a mature student ( hopefully lol ). I followed what you said in your reply - Under programme registration and then click payment on fees, it's telling me 2150e.

I just hope this is all - if it ends up i'ii have to pay tuition fees anytime soon, it will be most likely, no college for me and that's the reality, unfortunately being unemployed etc etc....

I have done courses twice at level 6 in the past few years both at first year and didn't have to pay tuition fees.

guys paying 2150 with your card might lead to problems due to overzealous anti-fraud measures- AIB are particularly bad, and blame everyone else if transaction fails lol

In the last page or so it's posted that they are discontinued, something to do with processing fee, it's cheaper for the college to accept card payments.

Under payment of fees it said amount due of 2150. I paid this amount with my credit card and it is saying that it is a successful payment. However it still says that there is am amount due of 2150. Did this happen to anyone else?
