Well, I have red curly hair, should be fairly stand out ish :p But I have a pair of bright orange jeans I could wear?

Right, if I can figure out how to add one :p

Early - midweek of Orientation week seems to suit everyone so? :)

EDIT: Ok so I added a poll, I said I'd ask about the location first, I can add another for a date or we can just decide here on the date!

any day would be grand for me except obviously the day of orientation ball, i think most of us will be planning on going to that

    I'd be in :D

Someone has to wear something identifiable btw! Or else we will all be wandering around afraid to ask people if they are "vDarr" etc! :L

I would second during the week, a lot of people go home at the weekends, and the pub will be fairly full on a Saturday night too.

Hear hear, I'll be at home every weekend at the start of the year at least :p
Oh I can imagine that, I'm quite recognisable right now though, I have greeney/blue bits in my hair
As the second organiser (ask the OP) I propose the following:

Tuesday September 20th, 5.30pm, Nu Bar, DCU.

    Objections/Agreements?

As long as it's during the week, Friday at a push, but the Nu Bar seems to be a fairly busy spot, though I don't know where either of them are

I think Tuesday is the best day. It gives the friend-less (that's me haha) a chance to meet people sooner :)

So does everyone agree on Tuesday the 20th so?
    :D

which of the two places is easier to get to?? :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,901 ✭✭✭Gunslinger92

Well the NuBar is on campus, but Matt Weldon's is literally across the road from Ballymun entrance, so they are both very easy to get to :)

2 years ago we met up in the slipper, not sure where they were last year.
Nu bar is smaller and might be busy. Also the slipper (btw go in the back bit from the side door) doesn't check ID on the door. Sometimes in the evening Nu bar does as its easier than asking everyone who goes to the bar.

Not at all! They pour a deadly pint of Bulmers/Guinness, though.
I'm up for it, if I'm around. :P

Do DCU peeps go upstairs? Downstairs was where I thought was creepy.

Been a while, but I think a pint of Bulmers is about 4.60, but it's worth it. Couldn't tell you about the Guinness, though. Only heard they're awesome from a friend.

Usually upstairs is used for parties and such. Clubs and societies usually book it for events. Completely forgot about upstairs, we should (if we've decided on The Slipper) book the upstairs for the evening. It's free (if I remember correctly) and I think they throw in snacks. You just need to buy pints downstairs!

I don't drink either to be honest. They don't seem to be too dear though.

Well then you might be interested in the fact that their shots, are tall shots, and not those small crappy things a lot of places try to claim is a shot. <_<

Well if it's free, I don't see any harm in booking it! Also snacks would be very appreciated, haha :p
