Does anyone know if a drink driving charge and a seat belt fine affect your application for a firearms licence. I got caught 6 years ago.Silly mistake. Thanks for any answers

Personally speaking i doubt it. Thats a road traffic offense and was 6 years ago so not recent.

The more "influential" offenses would include criminial things such as assault, threatening behavior, etc. The only true answer i or anyone can give you is its up to the local Sperintendant as to whether you get it or not. Its a crappy answer but honestly we could only guess as to whether he includes your previous offense in his determination of your application.

My thoughts would be to fill in an FCA1, and make an appointment to speak to your Super of Firearms Officier and have a chat with them. If you get a good "vibe" then leave your applcation with them.

I would agree with Ezridax on his answer, but I also know they make no difference between an air rifle and a 223 in my area. Once "rifle "is in the wording you get the house visit and full inspection. With a shotgun they are easier going.
