There was a documentary on the Beaumont children on TV a few months ago. I think the FBI channel or whatever it is.

Not sure if it was showed over here, but I loved a programe growing up called 'Great Mysteries of the World'. It was an American series and it used to scare the **** out of me and gave me nightmares but I couldn't not watch it.

I've obviously always been into all this mystery stuff.

Another one is Trevor Deely that went missing after a night out in Dublin in December 2000. I remember the story as I moved to Ireland to live a few weeks after he went missing and there were posters of him everywhere

I agree with this. It took place during the Cold War. I imagine it was some super secret weapon and the government could not provide details or they would risk exposing their new weapon to the American government.

We have doors that lock on the door knob. All you have to do is turn the lock, close the door, and it is "locked from the inside". In my old apartment, our doors had the locks on the door knobs. You beat me to it. I would love to know what really happened to him that day. I live in the area and get off the bus from work right across from his house. It's a constantly busy road and he was taken in broad daylight. If someone did abduct him they must have had literally seconds to do it

Anything to do with Project MK ULTRA is well worth a read.

An unsolved mystery because 90% of the documentation pertaining to it [was] 'dissapeared' and nobody really knows what sort of crazy 5hit the CIA got up to back then- the remaining evidence has some really hair-raising stuff in it.... people being kept on c0onstand LSD trips for months at a time, people losing their minds to authorised psychological torture at the hands of a highly respected psychiatrist... that sort of thing!

The boat was listed as missing in the North Atlantic on 10 Feb, 1944.

There is no explanation for its loss. 51 dead (all hands lost).

Salis Sea Human Foot Discoveries - feet that have been found washed up in Canada and Washington over the last few years, probably from boating/plane accidents but it's odd how no other bodiy parts have been found.

Most of the others I can think of have already been mentioned, Dyatlov Pass Incident, Mary Celeste, D.B. Cooper, people who went missing and then unidentified people who've been found like the Tamun Shud case, there's a similiar modern day case of a man who was found (thankfully alive in this case) with no memory of who he is and nobody has been able to identify him: Benjaman Kyle.

Hadn't heard of the Spring-Heeled Jack or Dancing Plague ones before, for as many creepy ones there are, those are just plain bizarre.

The Babushka Lady.

When JFK was assassinated, she was a spectator, wearing a long brown coat, and appears in many photographs of the incident. She was holding something in front of her face at the time, which appears to be a camera, but had her head covered by a scarf. She would have had a clear shot of the building where the gunman was. She has never been identified or come forward, nor has the valuable footage been found. In the pandemonium that followed the shooting, she remained calm and hung around a while, and surveyed the scene, before walking off, without speaking to anyone, with her footage.

You can clearly see someone in the grassy knowl and also the infamous zapruder film in here. JFK was a good guy

So I have been spending the last hour reading up on the Beaumount children. Mother of god I never knew Oz had so many missing kids (some found, some not) Really depressing as you get a fair idea they won't turn up alive. Sick people.

Anyway I came across this list of people who mysteriously went missing since records began. Some are a kinda funny, in that it is obvious that some were disposed of by the rulers of the day.
