Feck, lads. I think Mischa Barton was in Drogheda tonight or something, remember hearing about it a while back, slipped my mind. Friend has a picture taken with her online there.

Jeez choosing a phone is so hard.

contemplating trying the new iPhone 5, but fear im not ready to be locked down. not ready for everything to be so limited. and not having the menu function that Android offer is a downer, instead u have all your apps thrown in your face. I would how ever like to try out this isms or what ever other crap they throw at you. was never sold on the iPhone was good at first then went crap then went good and now back to crap again.

Then its down to android. First smartphone is a HTC i love their interface. i understand them but due to my phone switching off every 50 seconds im really iffy on another HTC (one X in mind) specially if its only going to last a year.
then the runner up is the S3 i never liked the S2 was always a rival. Something turned me off samsung mobile i dont know what. but it does have tethering, something the one x lacks and i need. Still have plenty of time to decide but does anyone know if something better is coming on the market??

The Lumia 900 is a tasty piece of kit, and the 920's on the way and looks delish! :)

Of the ones you listed, I'd forget about the HTC, and would lean towards the S3 because I'm a bit of Samsung fanboy. :)

Having rejected The Smiths for so long, I was walking down the road tonight listening to my sister's Ipod and Asleep came on. And it was just perfect for the cold and the darkness and it was beautiful. I fear that I'm growing rather fond of The Smiths which means leaving my childhood behind. Maybe that's apt considering the week or so that's in it. I still think Morrisey's a twat though.

I'm not the biggest fan of The Smiths either but Asleep is all kinds of wonderful. Maybe here's hope for you yet! :p

Thanks. Anything nokia related can say bye bye. they died back in 2005 you cant bring something back from the dead even if they have a laser gun on it and can remotely control sharks. :pac:

Tis tough between the HTC and S3 me being HTC fan. but wouldnt mind a change.

Yeah I agree - I never liked anything but covers of the smiths song, but then I heard Asleep when I went to see wallflower and its awesome :D

I want an iPhone and I've just finished saving for it but now looking at the money it seems like a lot on a phone. Hmmm i dunno

Is that with a contract, cause €900 is a crap lot of money to waste on an iphone thats just me, cause ive nearly used up 32gb i would need 64gb Although the 4 is much cheaper

    Madness. Buying into a brand.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,076 ✭✭✭Eathrin

I would use 64gb easily, that's an absolute disgraceful amount of money to spend on a phone.
    My Samsung Laptop: €540
    Nokia Lumia 800: €200
    HP Touchpad Tablet: €130

    Still cost less put together.

The top end smartphones (iPhone, S3, etc) are all vastly over priced for what you get. Personally, I'd rather walk away with a phone that's not quite as powerful, but still pretty decent, and have €300 sitting in my bank account than pay an exorbitant amount of money for an iPhone, where you're paying at least 15% of the price for the brand.

I don't get those messy, top-of-the-head buns some girls with long hair do. Several girls in my class have them and they just look like it'd be painful to get the hairband out. They don't even keep hair up and pretty much everyone with one spends more time fixing it than anything else. How did this even become a thing? I keep getting distracted during lecturers wondering why people do this to their hair

Currently sitting through a very extended awkward moment with my housemates who are discussing who is responsible for a mess that was made...

OH it's getting worse as I type! Apparently one of them adds to the electricity bill more than anyone else!

    Raised voices!!

And thank god for mobile phones when there are awkward moments...

..... Okay, I need to add to this post again so I don't just stew in the awkwardness..

Would it be fair to assume there were a few open alcoholic beverage containers in the background as you posted? :P

This must have been recent because when I was last there the only wifi was on the buses and would fade when they drove away from the station

That's hugely dependent on a number of things but most importantly, is it possible to commute to college and if so is the journey feasible on a daily basis?

I can't comment really on the experience, but from the outside in it looks fantastic.
I'm a fellow commuter, about 50 minutes from leaving the house to UCD. It's a slog that takes a lot more out of me than I'd imagine it does for say, someone on campus.
The social aspect of it is definitely a factor too.

It's very expensive though and if you ask me it's not worth it if you can't easily afford it. I wouldn't advise anyone to move put and get a job to finance it if you can possibly live at home. The stress of it will get to you.
