Pretty sure I'm not going to be doing anything on New Years Eve cause I've lost touch with most of my friends from round here. I feel kind of sad and guilty about that, but it's not like they made the effort to keep in contact either...

Same. Of the few I would go out with, they're all heading out of town for it.

My friends kept pestering me to get a job so I could afford to go out more. I get a job and work hard to keep the job, this includes going to bed early and not coming into work hungover and my friends are now giving out that I never go out.

I mean it's like whether you go out and get pissed or not is like some sort of important factor in life... to a degree it is but f*ck sake never thought it would cause me this much grief.

So just checked my call/text log... the only incoming call/text since about the 17th of december was my Dad on xmas day.

    *sad panda*

Note to self: Cooking when exhausted/hungover results in the loss of a chunk of my finger and nail.

    Owww.

    I need to sleep.

It can be very difficult to keep in touch with friends from home, especially if like myself you don't like the place you're from. As much as I like my friends from here I'm not around to see them.

Same... I suppose it's mostly my fault... I hardly ever went out a home before college because my parents didn't want me drinking underage, and then when I started college I realised how big of a sh1thole our town is, so I pretty much stopped going... and those I made a serious effort to stay in touch with gradually stopped talking to me, so fcuk 'em.

Though this does mean that I'll be at home tomorrow night watching the countdown on TV...

    kinda a catch 22 I guess. :(

My boyfriend isn't talking to me, I'm working too late to make the last dart out to town after work tomorrow to meet up with my friends, my mum is going out as is my brother.

So my new years eve will be spent sitting at home alone. I'll be surprised if I'm awake at 12.

    This is just depressing.

Same for me really. The only time I regret not keeping up contact with some of my school friends is around nights out like this, just so I'd have something to do. Realistically though, for most people we were only friends cos we were stuck together in the same school and neighbourhood for so long...they're not the kind of people I'd see as long term friends.

Nights out around here though stopped being good years ago. They're so expensive, the places are always full of 15/16 year olds, and personally I think New Years Eve is always overhyped and usually pretty shit. (I don't care if I sound old :P)

I've turned down two separate groups of people to head out tonight. Last year I didn't go out either (pretended I was sick but iirc I just wasn't bothered shaving). I'm not the most sociable this time of year.

I made a terrible terrible choice a few months ago, with someone I shouldn't. It has now creeped up on me and I've no ne to blame but myself, I've literally just ruined somenes life.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,761 ✭✭✭Lawliet

Probably just as well I made no plans, I'm feeling way too sick to go out. I think I'll ringing in the New Year with nurofen and lots of hot drinks. Preferably from my bed.

Hate being this unsociable, don't even have the guts to tell people I'm not going out. :( Stupid New Years who comes up with this crap?

I like how loads of us aren't going out. I think we should have a loner party in here tonight.

It's come to the stage where I think I must be an awful bítch or something, all my friends seem to be dropping off like flies :( I'll gladly attend this loner party, it's better than having to sit through Miriam O' Callaghan tonight.

Haha at all of you and your loner party. I, on the other hand, shall be going to my grandparents' for a fun-filled night of watching Jools Holland and maybe even a game of charades!

On second thought, can I stay here with you guys? :o:pac:
