''In 1910 there were 2,462 charges of drunkenness in the Dublin Metropolitan police district, while a total of 3,758 people were drunk when they were taken into custody.''
Anyone know what it was like in 2010 ?
    ifno from here

The data is on the CSO database here: http://www.cso.ie/px/pxeirestat/Statire/SelectVarVal/saveselections.asp

Unfortunately the database just records a selection of "Public Order and other social code offences" which break down as Disorderly Conduct, Trespass offences, Liquor licensing offences, Prostitution offences, Regulated betting/money collection/trading offences, and Social Code Offences. The numbers given are national as well, you can't drill down to what would be the old DMP area.

But if you took just "Disorderly", then for 2010, the national figure is 47,348 "recorded offences". Dublin represents about 1/4 to 1/3 of the population. Take the lower number and you come up with 11,837 offences.

JUNIOR INNOVATION MINISTER Seán Sherlock has this evening agreed to attend a panel discussion including the organiser of a petition attacking his online copyright laws, after earlier saying he would not share a stage with him.

Sherlock is due to attend a forum on digital rights being held at Dublin’s Science Gallery tomorrow, alongside Boards.ie founder Tom Murphy, Paul Durrant representing internet service providers, and solicitor Simon McGarr, who founded the StopSOPAIreland petition.

The zombie survival 'Google Map' that will help you find food and guns after the undead apocalypse.

It's well known horror film fact that when a zombie apocalypse arrives, those who want to see off the army of the undead need a variety of supplies to survive.
Nearby medical care, weapons and nutrition are the key concerns for anyone hoping to successfully avoid being feasted on by rampant zombie legions.
Now, should any remaining humans be overcome by confusion or panic during the zombie invasion, a unique world map has been created detailing all the key locations people need to survive.
