Very interested. However, I would like a little more information about the MilSim story and scenarios etc, if you wouldn't mind?

Anybody between 16 and 18 will be required to get a consent form/waiver signed before we leave.

Bus will hopefully start in Dublin, go to Waterford then on to Rosslare.
Will know for sure in the next day or so.

Any word on bus pick up points?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 363 ✭✭munster_mafia

At the moment Damo there will be one leaving from Dublin but at the moment we are unsure of from where. But it is something that's currently being decided.

From right outside my house (fingers crossed) lol :-)

What is the game-cost only? i.e. for those not availing of organised transport & travel arrangements.

Dont have the figures in front of me at the moment but I think its either £35/45.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,152 ✭✭✭Inari

Any rough details on game-plan? I don't mean to pester, but I'd just be interested in knowing what to expect. The venue looks excellent, but with having to book time off of work, and away from the GF (that's the hard part), I'd really need a little more info.

Basically all I'm looking for is:
    - Rough gameplay style (Speed-soft, scenario play, story-driven, simulation etc)
    - Equipment requirements/limitations (Ammo/mag limit, uniform/clothes restrictions etc)

Having never travelled with Airsoft before, I'd say this will be a good first :)

    Some info

    # Players

50 (2 teams), may increase slighty if UK based lads on here join in.

    Loadouts / Uniforms

    Team 1 Greens and Black
    Team 2 Tan and Multicam.

    Ammo

There will be ammo restrictions in place, not 100% yet on mid caps only.

    Medic Rules

We are looking into using some advanced medic rules, different respawn times depending on where your hit etc...

    Game

This will be a story line driven milsim game with multiple objectives that have to be completed throughout the day. Hoping to nail this down during the week, obviously we went tell ye the game beforehand but will throw up some teasers.

    Pick Up Locations

Talking to few guys at the moment as to where is most suitable.

    Thanks man, good stuff :D

Lee from First and Only will be getting in contact with Charlie in AWOL about the pyro. Going on last years event we had the prices at the end of september and had to pre-order by the end of October. Also the price was roughly around the €3 mark.

OPERA experiment invites scrutiny of unexpected results....

It seems that researchers working in one of the world's largest physics laboratories, under a Shopping centre in Reading, have recorded particles travelling at a speed that is supposedly forbidden by Einstein's theory of special relativity.

In the experiment, neutrinos are generated at the Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) particle accelerator at the CERN LHC complex in Reading and further accelerated down a 1 km beam line toward the Castle Laboratory in Athlone Ireland. At Athlone, a detector instrument called OPERA measures the neutrinos. The distance from Reading to Athlone is 732 km straight through the Earth, traveling up to 11.4 km below the Earth’s surface.

    map.jpg

We have lost all communication with scientists at the Reading complex, we believe terrorist have taken over the lab and are working on experimental weapons using technology similar to the SPS to... take over the world!
A recon team are currently en-route to scout out the base and report back before we launch a full on assault.

Below we have some artist impressions of what is going on in there:

anymore info yet? like teams and camo requirements, also can we get confirmation of pick up locations and times

also an update on rules would be nice, first page says milsim with mid caps others contradict this

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 2,610 Mod ✭✭✭✭horgan_p

/crosses fingers for midcap milsim madness......

I do wonder though if there really are people out there playing airsoft who dont own midcaps ? It's for another thread I know.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,149 ✭✭✭✭Lemming

    /bump.

Organisers, you really need to get your skates on please; we are inside of three weeks to go and people need time to organise kit, sort transport, etc.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 2,610 Mod ✭✭✭✭horgan_p

    Gentlemen ,
One week on from the last request for information.

    Please ,

    1) DEFINITIVELY what are the ammo limits / rules re: midcap or hicap mags?
    2) What are the arrangements to meetup with this bus (times / places)?
    3) What is the game type (milsim / soft milsim / skirmish / bb festival ) ?

The deposit for this was paid back in August. We are approaching the end of October. Some information / visibility of organisation is required , failing this my next post will be to cancel and request my deposit gets refunded.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,149 ✭✭✭✭Lemming

I would like to echo what horgan_p has written above; it's a four hour drive each way for me, and tbh I'd like to know wtf is going on before I leave at 04.30h on Saturday morning ....

With just under two weeks to go and no further information, this just isn't on. I've got it easy with my travel plans vs. many of those travelling and I'd still reconsider with the scant details provided as that sort of travel time & cost for absent organisation just isn't worth the effort.

    Puding wrote: »

FYI Puding, found this a few pages back buried on pg.2

    Loadouts / Uniforms
