Maybe a stupid question but is sugoi any good?
The pictures don’t do them any justice as the fittings look terrible in them.

Late follow up to this - I spent 350 euro in two goes buying what should have been over a grand sterling list price.

Two of my fav items were worn back to front on the sports direct photo shoot, so pretty much everything looked rubbish.

A few items I would never have paid full price for but at 8quid in xs are ace for the kids.

Big thanks to the person who originally posted - the next 5 years are going to be in lovely kit.

Are there specific items from them on sale or just all their stuff in Sports Direct. HD a quick look & saw these but v reluctant to buy based on just 1 photo

Lumos are kickstarting a new bike helmet with lights/indicators built in. Running a lot cheaper than their original products. Might be of interest to some:

ZIPP 808 Firecrest Carbon Clincher Rear can be had for £605 on Sports Pursuit in a flash sale. Maybe not much use without a front but a decent price.

Garmin Edge 130 with Heart rate monitor included. €137.49.

Best deal I could find as the gps head unit is usually around €130, HRM another €60.

    linky

Claim a code to get a 10 pack of SIS gels for free.

You can then either pay the postage of £4.99 to Ireland or add something such as SiS GO Isotonic Energy Gel Bundle (2 x 6 pack) to bring the total to £11.34

That's 22 gels for £11.34 delivered to ROI. Not bad...

Decent price on Vittoria Pave clinchers on Wiggle: https://www.wiggle.co.uk/vittoria-pave-cg-open-clincher-road-tyre/
25s and 27s available, but - as far as I know (open to correction) - the Paves are a discontinued tyre.
These are a seriously good tyre IMO - I have already stashed away a few pairs.

Used them in Roubaix and Flanders and we’re ideal for those conditions and terrain - they are a relatively soft compound so will wear quite quickly if using them for normal training but fantastic tyre all the same.

First time in a while I have seen a bike of that listed weight full stop!

Good ol' "discs 'n aero" have made everything 8kg+

That's a very nice bike. Visualising it here with a change of saddle and bar tape and it's starting to look very good indeed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,387 ✭✭✭lennymc

if it wasnt for the fact that it was xl, i probably would have bought it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,071 ✭✭✭fat bloke

You'd have to sure, the groupset and wheels are a bargain at 2500.

It's an old enough model now, a similar deal was available at least a year ago, again in odd/limited sizes, and was posted up here. A couple of weeks later I actually met a fella locally going up the hill on one of them. - Very nice bike in the flesh too, and sure you can't beat a dura-ace and zipp combo.

Yeah I've seen one on the S2S near Raheny too, very nice looking bike. It's in my size and all but unfortunately there's no way I could justify it :pac:

    not quite cycling but coffee...cycling..??

Lidl have tins of illy coffee at €5.xx for 250grm
never see this anywhere less than €8-€10

reminds me of the scene from the Lance film, The Program, where Floyd Landis gulps down 7 or 8 espresso's at a coffee stop on a training spin :D

Can anyone tell me if Dublinbikeman is legitimate? Not sure if I can post the Link but i've seen sponsored posts on Instagram however the website looks very cobbled together. The main thing I want to know before handing over money is that the purchase is all above board.

He seems to have very reasonably priced second hand bikes. Anyone have any experience?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,451 ✭✭✭MojoMaker

He has sold lots and lots of bikes over the years, but yeah the sales process is a little cloak and dagger - there's nowhere to browse for example but he'll meet you wherever you need with a bike to view. The chap is a bit eccentric but the bikes are solid and sometimes unusual enough to have a little cachet from time to time.

Bought a few bits off of him recently. Everything seems legit to me. Has his own little storage and workshop in city centre

Hi, I've just picked up a Crevit Double Barrel Foot Pump in Lidl for €7. It does Presta and Shrader, has a gauge, and a couple of other valve adaptors. It seems to work fine. I got tired of waiting for Halfords Waterford to get in their €15 track pump with gauge, they suggested I go to Limerick. Thanks.
I know, Lidl sometimes do a decent enough track pump, but who knows when. (Probably next week...)
