As the originator of this thread and the thread on how to get a UK FTV card in Ireland IMHO his method won't work either and even if it did the region wouldn't be suitable to get you all the channels including channel 5.

I'd say this is the link sgbrady meant: https://mysky.sky.com/replacecard/get-a-card even though they look identical I can get the page from this but not from the one posted earlier.
I got a card this way a few months ago using the BT1 1 AA postcode because they only send them to UK addresses. They sent a Northern Ireland card which gave ch 5 but then a month later ch 5 was scrambled so it wouldn't go on the epg any more.

I have a NI(UTV on 103) FSFS card and Ch 5 works fine.Have the card about 10 months.I keep it in Ferguson 120 but put it back into skybox for 1 or 2 days every month -as is recommended by other boardies-
I put this card back into sky box today and ch5 (105)& ch5(171) hd are both clear and on epg.

Sorry I should have made myself a bit clearer.Channel 5 works fine if I replace my sub card with the NI card but if I do the card trick using it ch 5 is not there when I put back in my sub card. I have a Central region card and that puts Ch 5 on the epg with the card trick no problem.

I wonder if it is because the the NI version of ch5 is not stored in other channels?

No, we've discussed this before, it's because NI has an encrypted version of channel 5 now. This thread is about getting Channel 5 and other UK channels on the Irish EPG not what channels you can get with a FTV or FSFS card.

Just to let everybody know that I tuned in 5* and 5 US in other channel and they're now in my EPG all waiting for them to go FTA!!

That's happened to me a few times over the past month but(imo) it's a small price to pay for the convenience of ITV1 HD.

I think 5 and its variants are not yet using 1N on Sky (testing off EPG only). When they move you' may need to do the card trick again as you have the current versions added (which will cease).

No, I've tuned them in using the frequencies from 1N so I'm all good to go!

I just noticed C5 has disappeared from 105 (it was encrypted anyway)

Is this related to the 1N bird? What freq's do I need to setup for a BBC NE&C card?

Yeah gone from mine too,was encrypted as well.

With all the currently encrypted 5's moving to 1N your card and channel in 'Other Channels' no longer match up so it has disappeared from your EPG, tune in the ones from 1N now and they will reappear but will be still encrypted til early December, worth doing it for 5* and 5 USA too!

If it's free-to-air, then it's in my 'other channels'! I've, reluctantly, deleted a few radio stations though to make some space.
