It specifically says this: "We don't believe that any of the special operators who were killed were involved in the Bin Laden operation."
SEAL Team 6 is a large group. The people who died in the crash weren't the same people who were in the bin laden raid.

In a strange reversal of roles people were killed by a polar bear and a load of seals died in a helicopter crash.

20 of the soldiers involved in the killing of Osama bin Laden were killed in a helicopter crash.

    In other news:

The statue of Lincon in Washington stood up screaming "We built this city on rock and roll" before a flock of Taliban monkeys flew out or his arse. :pac:

None of the dead were involved in the operation that killed Bin Laden. They were in the same unit is all.

This just prove how vulnerable helicopters are to virtually all types of AA.Complete mystery to me while they were all travelling together, nearly 40 men. They should have split up into four Black Hawks.
Keep your jokes to yourselves, those SEALs did more in one week then you could ever hope to do in your lives.

Good point,I guess it could have performed a touch and go,but it would have been just as vulnerable on the way in/out.

Am I the only one who imagined the chopper splitting up into four Hawks and later recombining, a la Megazord?

    So true.

I would never hope to shoot armed or otherwise terrorists/civilians.

I would rather have a steady job and raise a family, no matter how bad the current economic situation is.

    But thats just me!

Last time I checked fighting to eradicate terrorism isn't really a pointless cause.
Or is it just you that when out a group of men kill 2000+ civilians it is suddenly a pointless cause to respond.

How many missions have you completed, nop doubt on the Xbox or PS3?

An informed response indeed. Did you pause to consider civilians killed by US forces when they invaded Afghanistan? You're looking at 12,000 at a very conservative estimate. Did you consider that the families of those 12,000 people will be radicalised against the US?

    "Eradicate" terrorism my eye.

Fighting two incredibly expensive and protracted wars in foreign countries to prevent terrorism isn't just pointless, it's counter-productive.

FFS how come a bereavement thread to a crackhead junkie gets more respect than this.
Regardless of what your stance is regarding the war on terror, at the end of the day there are 38 families that don't have a son or a brother or a husband or a dad anymore.

Maybe I'm just expecting too much from AH??

Lots of people seem to die in afghanistan and pakistan these days, I don't think about them much and I doubt you do either.

The world can't be easily be divided up into "good guys" and "bad guys". If you can provide an argument to justify the current wars, I'd like to hear it.

US foreign policy works by carrot and stick. The carrot is international aid. These guys are the stick. I think US foreign policy is cynical and self-serving, so I don't have much respect for their military.
