Rate the Call Of Duty games from best to worst

Hi, I've only played 4 of them but my ranking is: Modern Warfare > Modern Warfare 2 > World At War > Black Ops

For me the games i've had most fun on are (Not saying they're the best)...

CoD2 > Black Ops > MW2 > W@W = CoD4

Based on how much I've played each it would be:

1. World at War (4d 14h)
2. MW2 (3d 12h)
3. COD4 (3d 0h)
4. Black Ops (1d 6h)
5. COD3

Seems accurate enough of how I would rate those games over the last 4 1/2 years since COD4 was released
As with Magill thats based off how much fun I've had with each

Blops was fun for a while but got tired of it, WAW is ok, never really played it for long enough, enjoyed the SP though

Ironically your top 3 are by Infinity Ward, and your last 3 are by Treyarch.

Also, I'm stunned NOBODY has listed the original COD that started it off. Brilliant game and it had an expansion made by Treyarch which won a lot of awards :P

I've only ever played MW2 and blops!!

So I'm gonna have to say

1. Blops
2. MW2

Purely coz MW2 has soooooo many flaws.. Far too much emphasis on killstreaks, QS bullcrap, OMA, Commando, noob toobs, heart beat sensors, stopping power.


perks, and killstreaks are far more balanced in Blops imo!

WaW is king in my opinion, so much replay value out of it and the sound and graphics are amazing. It's just so gritty looking and has that atmosphere that the others lack.

Black Ops was a real let down for me, only have a few hours on it so far.

1. Cod 4 - What can i say the best one!

2. WaW - Bolt only was so much fun and the maps were decent.

3. Cod 2 - Great maps and more skilled, no nooby perks, sniping was fun too.

4. Black Ops - Better than mw2 but got boring fast, DLC killed the game and split the community.

5. Mw 2 - Horrible maps and killstreaks, the cracked version better than original, enough said here.

I wouldnt buy DLC for any cod game, only if its worth it. Also it splits the community.

I would ahve said mw2 was the most fun but I played it recently and it was just annoying. Blops has its problems but its still fun so...

WaW>MW2>cod4>COD3/BLOPS(have under a day on both of these)

World at war had it all, brilliant maps, the war game mode(best game mode in cod to be honest), balanced weapons(bar the MP40) and the original zombies. The only cod I've bought all the DLC for.

Pity the tossers have ruined it these days with their stupid fcukin glitch where they cant be killed!

Ah..... may just try a game now!

WaW is by far the best. I have talked to a few MW heads and they give out about the weapons being Shíte. Takes a fair bit of skill to nail a moving target with a bolt action (no attachment), and they didnt go overboard (which they do in Black Ops) with the killstreaks either

Played most of the COD games (over the years) on PC and Xbox, have to say enjoyed the majority of them (excluding the Big Red One).

The original was a huge leap from all other FPS at the time as "large scale battles" were introduced - it also looked great and played well.

I was glad that the series moved into modern times as WW2 shooters were getting stale by then, and I have to say the campaign on MW1 was excellent (I played this on the PC when it came out).

Having never played WAW - much to my regret, I vote for COD4 as the best single player game.

Multiplayer is a different animal, my favourite COD online is Black Ops, MW2 is too frustrating to play these days. COD4 would be my second choice as its pure gun on gun gameplay.

Anyways this is my 2cents:

it's all about multiplayer for me. only played world at war, blops, MW1&2.

MW2 got boring, BOPS the maps just dont do it for me and i never really played enough WAW multiplayer.

I can't find my copy of BOPS so the other evening i banged in an old copy of MW and am completely addicted. i can't believe i'd never multiplayed this (for shame, but i've some excuses). the maps are great!
