well luckily i don't have to travel far to meet people of many other cultures, there's loads of them here, and interesting people they all are too. Have done the states and most of europe, but would really like to visit russia, oz, and the far east.

Yeah, I used to travel a lot and really loved it. Never did manage to get to the Americas , heading there soon for a few weeks but you really need months to get a proper feel for a place.

my grandad was a merchant sailor through, between and after both world wars. It was only a few years ago i was given his discharge books after an uncle died. I want:

1. Health and happiness for me and everyone close to me.
2. An interesting and challenging occupation with a lot of freedom, ideally self-employed ultimately.
3. To be financially independent with the ability to travel a lot. The dream (though highly unrealistic) would be to never be based in one place for more than a couple of years.
4. To trace my ancestry and learn about the people concerned as far as is possible and fully understand where I come from.
