Post up some pictures when you get them, both of them.

Was up with david to pick out me own and have to say the xplorers without the kick off system had far nicer wood,in fairness the guys opened box after box for me to see if there was one with really nice wood and they were all the same more or less.. have to say i was pleasantly surprised at how helpful they were in ardee have heard a few negative comments bout them and even though i wasnt dealing direct with them they were very friendly and professional will deal direct in future

Lovely gun, well you may wear. What sort of money is a xplor costing without a trade in?

Nice bit of kit there. Although I would be afraid to use it and end up damaging the wood on it.

    Well wear

Delighted it was so easily done for you, but without trying to be the "party pooper" did they (AGS) at least take an FCA1 off you?

The only reason i ask is a lad i know a few months ago had the same thing. Got his new gun and when he changed the license in the Garda station the Garda done the same thing. Scribbled out the serial number, wrote in the new one then stamped the license. He showed it to me and i aked the same thing i asked you. Did they take an FCA1. He said "they told me they would sort that out".

When he checked it out a couple of weeks later, i think i worried him into it it turned out his new license/gun serial number wa not on PULSE. He went back to the station and handed in an FCA1. They told him he already has a license for it. he insisted. 10 days later he got the new license in the post, free as it was a substitution.

Definitely worth confirming as you really should have gotten a new card/license with the substitution. It even says on the license "Substitution Cert Number - XXXXXXXXX". If it was only stamped in your Garda station and not actually done on/via PULSE/FCA1, you may have an "invalid" license.

Better safe than sorry, and as you have to wait for the gun anyway it'll be no harm.

Comgrats agin though on the gun. Dn't forget the pics. Was looking at the one in Stakelums in Thurles again. God they're nice.

Going on that then the Garda in question went above and beyond the call of duty in terms of helping/sorting you out. Gave the !quick license" to get you the gun quick, then sent of the FCA1 to get the "official" one.

We give the Gardai some stick here from time to time as we hear the worse case stories, so fair play to your lad for doing that.

Only pity is with all this help you have to wait on the gun.
