Question to the hive to settle an arguement,

When putting an inclined rail or scope mount on a rifle the higher part of the mount should be at the stock end and the lower part towards the muzzle end. That is the, mount or rail should be sloping downwards from the stock towards the muzzle. Is this correct?

    Thats my understanding.
the higher you raise the ass of the scope so to speak the more elevation you will have available.

if you are trying to get more elevation from your scope  you need the end nearest the muzzle highest i would have thought

The higher end should always be to the rear with the "narrow" end to the muzzle.

When you adjust a scope upwards for more elevation the reticle actually dials down forcing you to raise the muzzle of the rifle, hence the reason the rail/mounts should be"downward" sloping (towards muzzle).
