Aug 15, not to bad. Pity about the 9.30 start.

Anyone else look at it this morning? The dates are all funny.. It's just a number instead of a real date

Could've been a lot worse for me anyway.

Here, lads and ladies, I'm repeating a piece of CA(worth 50%) cause I submitted too late and got 0 but the examinations office is telling me I now need to resit the exam as well. Why is that?

I only need 40% at the most in the CA to pass the module totally (or less for compensation) so by the time I get round to doing the exam I will likely have passed anyway.

Will anything happen if I just don't bother showing up to the repeat? I really can't be arsed doing it and they cap the repeat exam at 40% anyway don't they?

The cap only applies if you're in final year and you're repeating more than 15 credits, irish_goat.

I'm not sure about whether you have to resit the exam, perhaps speak to your course coordinator or department head, or even try the Academic Advisory office, any of those should be able to give you the best information.

If you dont go to the exam I think you would fail because I think the mark you got in your last exam is gone since you signed up for the repeats.

So in theory I could pass the CA, fail the repeat and thus fail the module?

    The letter they sent out..
are you supposed to bring that to the exams with you?

You don't need any letters to sit exams. Just your student card.

The blue one? I think so. It says it's our exam permit so I'd say we do have to have it.

On another note, does anyone know if you can compensate in the repeats?

^ Yeah that's why I was wondering. seems weird though.
looked at it again and it says 'this permit must be produced each day in the examination hall'.

If it's an exam permit you'll need them in your exam with you. We used to have them a few years ago but they got rid of them for semester exams.

But you don't actually need it. So if you do forget it don't miss an exam over it or something. It's not necessary to actually get into the exam hall. Student card is the most important thing!

Anyone have any idea if the Autumn results are posted out or if we get them online?
