Or you have the cameras white balance on Incandescent. That will generally put a blue hue on images.

Well im gonna be blacking out the spoiler/side badges and adding a black rear diffuser and front splitter aswell as some decent black wheels between now and christmas, just wanted to see how black wheels looked on the car the cheap way.

I think they make the car look way more aggressive, it's crying out for a front splitter and Eibachs though

A bit of a dilema here lads. I'm in the middle of changing an engine mount on a focus and I need a deep socket probably 17"/18". Anyone have a loan of one? I'm in clondalkin, cheers. :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,720 ✭✭✭Hal1

Well I've been to halfrauds and got a 19mm deep socket. It's a little over sized and was starting to ring the nut, so I stopped. Then I remember my wheel brace might fit it. It did but can't get the leverage. I need to heat it next or blast it with wd40 and let her soak in it, in the hope it will turn easier. Sigh.

It should've been done by now :(.

Well fire worked. Just torqing up this monster before going back on the car. Lots of head scratching went on here today. Things are looking good again :). And the batterys need charging for the camera so no pics.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,720 ✭✭✭Hal1

Finally, job done. Test drive next. At least the engine didn't have to be lifted :).

  • Moderators, Motoring & Transport Moderators Posts: 23,157 Mod ✭✭✭✭Alanstrainor

Well, went for a drive to get a picture of my lovely clean motor, but when I got to the hellfire club car park I noticed the smell of oil...popped the bonnet and could smell oil and see puffs of smoke coming from the back of the engine bay.

Rocker cover gasket is what my money is on. And have ordered the parts. This should be fun!

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,720 ✭✭✭Hal1

Sure it wasn't just some spillage from topping up?

Nah, it's happened twice now, I'm as close to certain as I can be before getting it all open I guess. Sure no harm in replacing it regardless, supposedly it's not that bad of a job, might take a couple of hours. Will need some good weather to get it done! No garage!
