Boards.ie 1.0 Vanilla[Whitelist]

Welcome to the new Boards.ie server: 2.0!

Rules!

If you are found breaking these rules you will be warned, then temp banned and finally gone for good.
You may be banned straight away depending on the severity of what you have done.

1. DON'T BE A DICK!
2. No griefing.
3. No flying.
4. No x-rays.
6. No mob traps. This includes large rooms made for the sole purpose of spawning mobs.
7. No bots. Seriously guys... bots in minecraft?
8. No stealing. This includes killing people and taking their stuff, stealing from unlocked chests and if someone dies.
****-NOTE: In a pvp area, it's fair game.
9. No floating trees. We can find out who did it, and you will suffer.
10. If you damage something (or a creeper does) tell someone about it (preferably the owner of whatever is damaged) and help repair.
11. No nether portals in a locked house. People can end up locked inside and have to break out.



- Whitelist requests are needed again
- PvP is in pocketed areas. You will not know where the areas are until you walk into the area.
- We have lockette as usual.
- Mob Traps are rendered useless in this server.
- There is extra mobs outside of the city. Torches around the city will be forbidden except in the case of footpaths and minetracks around the city. Underground is ok of course.
- There will be a jail for minor offences in the server. Server admin reserve the right to their decisions. If you felt you were jailed unjustly, contact another admin or indeed myself.
- There is an anti-cheat plugin for flying, x-ray mods etc. Any users found cheating will be banned.

Sounds brilliant. The only thing i'd be concerned with is the length of time to pick up the mob drops. Would it be possible to extend it maybe 4 or 5 seconds just so that there will be time to pick it up when killing with a bow and arrow from a distance.

Everything else sounds great. This is going to be a nice challenge.:)

Yeah, it'll more than likely be extended. It'll be tested and see how it goes first.

That second one almost seems better. It would still discourage mob traps while no one has to worry about the drops from the mob they just killed dissappearing after a few seconds.

Well guys, I'm getting a final render of the last world right now, and holy crap there's a lot of chunks... At 30k+ right now, this may take a while.

Edit: Make that over 100k and rising fast.
Edit2: 175k, when will it end?!
Edit3: (Compulsive edits much?) Finally rendering the damn thing now. Didn't get to see what the final number of chunks were, but I'm making short work of actually getting the thing made :P

I just want to add one thing - no more "please add my friend to the Whitelist" requests. This is a server by and for Boards.ie members, so they will *have* to join and put in their request themselves. Only takes 5 minutes and only requires an email address.

All that said, I can't wait to see this new world take off I have high hopes that the iConomy will work out well this time.
