its been a busy week. Bought a cyclocross, sold a road bike and picked up a frame to build up a city bike.

the frame is a dolan frame, not sure of model, with a 1 inch carbon look fork. To it I added an 8 speed sora rear derailer, soras compact chainset, ricthey ds wheels with conti ultra sport tyres, tektro r580 brakes, some 8 spd mtb brifters and straightish bars.

I need to add a braze on derailer on the front, but overall, im very happy with it. It rides extremely well, and I like the looks.

    Frame as I got it

    Built up

    DSC_0145_zps81562c48.jpg

I need to cut the steerer and maybe add some kind of mudguard.

My beloved Surly, I,ll change the stem and bar sooner or later against something with more backsweep, but other than that i'm pretty happy with it

    sorry for the crappy picture

    my updated winter commuter.

new wheels built by holyboy (the gold rear dia compe hub was going cheap!), with a shimano n80 dynohub with b+m cyo 60 lux.

    phillips LED as back up.

first time riding fixed (before this incarnation the bike had a freewheel), and have covered a bit of distance so far, including over 90km today. i like it. gearing is 48-18

    saddle bag is a barley.

yes the gold looks a bit silly, but it'll brighten up the winter!

So heres my newest bike, a Ridley Noah. Absolutely adore this machine!

    Heres the spec;

Dura-Ace 7800 Chainset (Courtesy of TheDocMan)
Dura-Ace 7800 Rear Mech (Again courtesy of TheDocMan)
    Ultegra 6600 Front Mech
    Ultegra 6600 Flightdeck Shifters
    Ultegra 6700 Chain
    Ultegra 6700 12-25 Cassette
Unbranded Brakes- Soon to be upgraded to Planet X Forged brakes.
    Selle Italia Trestina Saddle
Easton EA 50 40cm Alu Bars
    Ritchey V2 100mm Alu Stem
    BBB Red Bar Tape.

The picture with the carbon wheels- sadly they aren't mine but they're Grammo's the front is a 50mm andI think the rear is a 88mm Grammo Viper. We put them on because we thought they looked good..which to be fair..they do:p

My own wheels are the Alu ones which are just to get me through the winter. They're Flyer wheels with Miche hubs. Strong wheels which have lasted a long time. Started as my race wheels long ago:pac:

So in time I'll upgrade the stem, wheels and definitely the brakes.

Might flip the stem, change the saddle and put 25mm tyres on.
Will take it for a spin tomorrow and decide.

    I just washed my fleet...

Weather forecast for tomorrow is pretty good, might take the BMC out for one last club run before putting it away and sticking to the SS winter bike with full length mudguards...oh the difference they make!

The fleet as of this morning, minus one Ridley Eos which now lives abroad.

Raleigh Elan is now all dressed in black for the winter.
    229520.jpg

Benotto is resting up until spring.
    229521.jpg

    Bianchi for dry commutes.
    229522.jpg

All are steel frame. Hopefully there will be an addition soon which will change that.

Just what one needs in the middle of winter - a track bike.

2011 Fuji track 2.0 picked up yesterday. Its stiff.

Ill play around with the seating position tonight. Have to adjust bars, saddle and get proper pedals.

here's a better picture (the last one was with crappy phone) with it all adjusted up (but I still need pedals)

    DSC_0403.jpg

    specs are:
    fuji track 2.0
    alloy framer
    carbon forks
fuji branded stem, bars and seatpost.
    oval saddle
fuji branded wheels with fixed/fixed hub
    vittoria slick tyres
    48 15 gearing
fsa fuji branded crankset with 144 bcd

all in all im very happy with it. I did track accreditation earlier in the year along with a couple of sessions and really liked it. Cant wait to get back on the track on this bike and try it out. im sure its way better than me! I may also use it for some time trials with an aero cockpit and some brakes. The local league TT is flat. ill be buying new chainrings and sprockets and a few other bits n pieces before I start racing it.

guess its about time i put my fleet up, some of them are semi clean for once so no better time :D

    dirtiest first so:

    201301121523591.jpg
Boardman Team comp 2010 (i think), surprisingly nice bike, very nimble just have to get that rear cable changed

    201301121228451.jpg
Lapierre pro race 200 2011, nice light alu HT, with some upgrades could be a really good bike

    201301121216411.jpg
Bionicon Edison ltd 2010, the first proper bike i ever owned, ive done everything from xc races to downhill on it and it did everything amazingly, no end to the stuff i had to fix on it when i first got it, but because of that ive become a competent bike mechanic :D thanks bionicon

    201301121213391.jpg
KTM Ratchet 2012, first proper DH rig ive owned, savage machine, its too much machine for me really, in a proper rippers hands it would be deadly

    right onto the road bikes:

    201301121518261.jpg
Cannondale CAAD 10 2011, what a bike, couldnt believe the weight off it when i first got it (considering its alu), changed the cockpit to kore and ritchey stuff, put a lovely FSA k-force chainset on it with some look keo blade carbon peddles, planning on getting some nice wheels and changing the drivetrain to sram red (money allowing :D)

    201301121521071.jpg
Vitus Razor 2012, havnt gotten out on this yet hence the flat peddles and wrong saddle height/shifter position, was only around 700 quid so was a decent enough deal

right time to put some security cameras up :pac:

I was close to selling it last year, but having spent a few hours taking it out of winter hibernation and shining it up im delighted to still have it! At 7.2kg it 4.5kgs lighter than the winter 'tank'.....cant wait to get back on it and go for a spin in Cuchulainn's Trader's Cup. The winter tank is too dirty to post a photo!

Oh great, a chance to show off :)

Here is my AM / Enduro bike. A 2008 Giant Trance X that I bought on Adverts early last year to take part in the new Enduro MTB series. The frame was in great condition but the components were all a bit scabby although functional. An unplanned strip and rebuild ensued and I ended up with a nice machine that I love to ride.

    600132_10150938191288097_3840162_n.jpg

My XC bike (2011 Cube LTD race) that I got on the bike to work scheme and that I used in a few XC races in 2012 and won the S4 Leinster league. It has served me well for the last couple of years as I really got into MTB but since getting the Trance its more or less sits happily in the shed. Will use it again this year when I do a few NPS races. Will also be back on it for its 3rd attempt at the Cooley thriller.

    306830_10150963556708097_673510702_n.jpg

My recently stolen Cube Aerial. Loved riding this thing in and out of work trying to get PRs and Strava top tens. It was nearly a year to the day when some punk stole it. Had clocked up 3500k on her and was lookng to upgrade as was tired of the triple ring and the Sora group.

    421042_10150622001483097_1053873567_n.jpg

Now my current steed Rose 2000 Pro. Really enjoying this over the Cube. Love the full 105 and she just seems like a different class of bike. Not sure if its in my head but for the same effort it eats the miles. The Cube was very basic without even a carbon fork so this is an upgrade in every way. I hope to have many many mile on it this year.

New bike built up and ready to go!
BMC Race Machine rm01 in Gulf GT40 colours
    SRAM Force groupset, bb30
Pro RC50 50mm tubs, conti gp4000 tyres, ultegra cassettes, swissstop yellow pads
    Ritchey WCS bars and stem

    DSC_0060_zps34cf57ee.jpg

Its bloody quick, and an absolute pleasure to ride. Its responsive, light (circa 7kg) very aggressive position (ill wait until im 100% happy with the bar height before choppiong the fork steerer), turns in and gets up to speed really well. Its very comfy, and very stiff. I dont want to race it, i just want to ride it for hours. LOL

My fleet has seen another slight shuffle in recent weeks....sold my On-One Pompino to make way for a geared CX bike....

Picked this up off a good friend for the right money...a giant TCX with ultegra 5500 53/39 chainset, unknown shimano front mech, xtr rear mech, sora LH shifter, 9 speed ultegra RH shifter, funny sized 25mm handlebars and a carbon seatpost.

    430391_10151335680557493_1428963248_n.jpg

As part of the deal, he threw in a pair of DA7800 shifters and a 10 speed chain so I could run it with my other 10 speed wheels, and here she is now with a fancy FSA stem and new €12 FSA handlebars courtesy of CRC...

    null_zpsd5d9b635.jpg

Badly in need of a white saddle and some pedals to finish it off, but I'm relatively chuffed and looking forward to trying out some CX! It's also doubling up as a commuter/winter trainer :o
