When I was sitting my business exam today I went to the toilet and the 5th year that went in with me asked me if i have notes in there. I said no and he just laughed and said he didn't care if I did because he'll probably be doing it next year. Seems like it would be really easy to cheat...

Don't cheat kids you'll only look like a twat if caught and as others have said its of no benefit anyway:cool:

I think that the examiner thought I was trying to cheat haha. I kept looking at the clock above him quickly to check how my timing was going and he kept looking down at me in the back in a way like, I'm watching you. Ahh well I wasn't cheating so I'm not exactly worried.

I was a supervisor in TY and I brought this guy to the bathroom and when he came out as a joke I said "Were you cheating?" and he was like "Oh my god how did you know?" And I was like "what?" and he was like "what?"... he was a bad cheater. And it was for religion!

    This is HILARIOUS!!!! :pac:

I did my LC quite a while ago now but I can't believe the level of cheating that is going on which is being said by the posters in this thread, it's insane! I don't understand how they can have such dozy and dopey supervisors in these exams. All they have to do is focus for 3 hours, walk around the place, ensure everything is above board - do their god damn job!

Cheating can ruin the chances of other students with a a college place. If an honest person got 500 points and a cheater got 505, one place left on their desired course - then the cheater will get the honest person's place. It's totally unfair and rotten scumbag behaviour.

I hope that all you LC students who see some idiot cheating, that you report them either during the exam or after. It's your future at risk.

It's really more their future than yours... I think it would be pretty mean of someone to report someone who you've gone to school with for 6 years...

It's mean to cheat someone out of a well deserved place first and foremost. They're ready to dick you over and cheat to get your place, you should be prepared to get them back, they're the ones doing wrong.

Remember that people tend to exaggerate, especially online; that the odd troll will be stirring it as well.

That's not to say that I think that the system is perfect, or that everyone is as wide awake as they should be, but the thousands of LC students out there who feel that their supervisor is doing a good job don't usually bother to hop on Boards to post about it! :D

My fella seems pretty switched on. I mean, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that people have a couple notes scribbled in the pencil case and I know there are people in the other centres bringing in folded up essays, but you couldn't get away with it in mine. He's mad for a few laps of the room at random intervals to break the monotony, and he moves SO SILENTLY you wouldn't know if he was breathing down your neck until you felt it. He's also a total legend, I've become very attached..

We're not allowed have our pencil cases on our table.

    You make me sick.
    Post count = 1.
Highly successful person posting his dirtiest secrets to an online community that has recently gained national coverage for identifying an apparent cheat.
(presumably) Middle-aged man posting on a leaving cert forum.

Yep, the more I look at it the more I think this guy is probably not being totally honest..:pac:

anybody here ever thought of leaving money and a note like "A2..B1 or even B2 please? nobody has to know, here's a €50 to return the favour, a free night out " :P

It's stupid but God.. I can't stop those thoughts from passing through my head. :P

It's also expressly forbidden and can get your exam cancelled! :)

I presumed at first we wouldn't be allowed even bring them into the hall, but it doesn't seem to be an issue. That being said, most people just have a few biros and a calculator on the desk anyway, and he tends to give the pencilcases a bit of an eyeball on his laps around the place.

The phone of the guy next to me went off in Maths 2 on Mon. He had it turned off but had an alarm set. The examiner snapped it off him and took out a orange colored bag. Seemingly his exam is being sent off and corrected separately and his entire leaving is currently in jeopardy!

This happened to my cousin last year in his exams. Except it was his ipod that started going off (I don't even know..). It was sent off, his mother killed him for it but they found nothing on the ipod related to school stuff so they gave it back and let him have his results.

Apparently they sometimes make examples of people though :-/

People talk about it, but has anybody correcting a paper actually had one with money inside it?

Haha I've thought about it. But the examiner would put the money in his pocket and mark it like he never even seen any money, the bastard:L

I have never heard of it but the fact the sec explicitly say in their rulebook it is forbidden would indicate some sort of precedence

Good point, Father, but I can categorically confirm I have not cheated once. I'm gonna put it down to me being incredibly sexy.

    I know how you feel.

I heard of a story where a girl left nude photos of herself in her exam paper so that the examiner would pass her, but the examiner was a woman! Then she cancelled the script and the girl was banned the girl from the Leaving Cert! Plus she kept the photos!

But then again, people in Navan tend to talk a lot of ****e.

I seem to find myself looking up directly in front of me when I'm thinking, and it happens to be where the examiner sits! I hope she doesn't think I'm trying to cheat, because I'm genuinely just thinking:) haha:rolleyes:

My old Irish teacher, who I did the Dip under, had money in a paper. She didn't know what happened but suspects it was cancelled as she was instructed not to complete correcting it. Keep in mind if it happened while I was correcting I'd always wonder was it put in to check would I report it!
