Brought my Weimaraner bitch out before but think she's too old and set in her ways to be used effectively so going to wait for the next pup I keep to stalk;). Didn't add to the poll for this reason

She wasnt impressed alright:D. Ild like to try her again but maybe where I brought you the start of the season or I have another promising spot to go to next season. In fairness to her though, I've been using her for game the past six years so is she too old to start training again???

    I'm not voting...

But I don't use a dog when I stalk goats or when I have stalked deer.
I would like to but my .270 with Muzzlebrake would be way too loud.

I think the dog would be handy to help find them and as company on the stalk. Also, it would be brave and hateful to go on a 3 or 4 mile early morning stalk to have to come home and then walk the dog!

I used my gsp bitch a few times last year to follow up two deer but haven't stalked with her yet. She'll be two this christmas and a bit quieter so I'll take her out stalking as much as possible this season and see how she gets on.

Beautiful pics, I found stalking in the snow very difficult, due to crunch crunch when walking, and too cold to sit still and wait for them to appear.

I use my old lurcher, 1/2 collie, 1/4 greyhound, 1/4 deerhound.

She has an excellent nose and you can tell by wtching her if there are deer upwind :)

She's 11 now so I dont hunt her anymore, she loves a day out on the hill though. Would love to get a viszla to replace her, or maybe a spinone
