    20/9/13 - €100
    Since November 2012 on 30K - €550.00

Now €6600 in the €200 per month direct debit purchases (separate to the €30k) & still not a sign of a win on them so far.

I will have to cash in the 30K at some stage next month (it is really belonging to the tax man but decided to have a little flutter with it before I gave it to him ).

I bought €450 worth of prize bonds between Feb 2012 and Nov 2012. I won €50 once.

I bought another lot today. I don't really see it as a way to invest but more as a foolproof way of playing a lotto. I could buy a lotto ticket once a week for the rest of my life, never win and have nothing to show at the end of it. At least this way i'm having a go at a lotto and still holding onto my money. Its win win if you ask me for €25 a month! I have my savings elsewhere though.

I have a quick question that I couldn't find the answer to anywhere else - is there a delay in the processing of prize bond purchases? If I go to the post office this Tuesday or Wednesday and buy prize bonds using a bank draft will I be eligible to win a prize in the draw this Friday?

    Thanks

You are entered from the day the bonds are printed which is usually the day after they receive payment (when it goes into their account, not when you hand them the draft). So nobody knows really, it might depend on what bank you use and what bank they use.

So disillusioned with the PB I don't even check every week now. Because I know it will be sorry, you have no new winners... Going to pull them soon.

Anyway, looked this morning, won €100 on 13th Sept, no cheque to date though, which is strange. Previous win was 16th Aug €50.

Ive read this thread with interest over the last little while and decided to get a few prize bonds to chance my luck I guess. Ive selected the pay into my account any winnings option however will they send me an email automatically to advise if I won or didnt win based on the email I put on the form or do I have to register the bonds myself online?

You'll hear nothing if you do not win! I get my wins paid into my Bank A/c also. Draw is on Friday and the win arrives in my A/c by Monday; I then get a letter by about Wednesday advising which Bond had won and that the win was sent to my A/c. YOU might get an email rather than a letter.
Like the rest of us, you might be waiting a fair while for either!! On the other hand your luck might be in.:)

Ditched my savings plan for prize bonds! Going to put a couple of hundred into them every month instead of my savings account. I'm one of those losers who gets really excited by the lotto so looking forward to this. Been waiting a week for my first lot of certs to arrive, feels like Christmas eve!

This thought did cross my mind also but Nationwide UK Ireland have a decent rate on their savings account for 15 months so i'll prob top up the prize bonds the odd time rather then every month. least I know some of money is doing something.

If my figures are correct it would seem the PB fund is now about 1,851,428,571 Euro as of the end of Sep 13,
Which means at the moment there are about 296,228,572 bonds.

During Sep I reckon the PB fund grew by 17,531,428 Euro,
Which means there will be an extra 2,805,029 bonds in each draw during Oct compared to Sep.

I would estimate that on average there was a net growth in the PB fund of 876,571 Euro for each working day during Sep.

Looks like the Prize Bonds again...the only change is that the 1Million comes every second month now - that's cut-backs for ya! Well spotted.

I believe some insurance company (123 maybe) gives out prize bonds to customers when they renew.
