All - quick question. I have a couple of grand in Prize Bonds but I have never won anything... Do you get any notification of winning or is it upto you to check for a winning number?

Is it unusual not to have at least one win in the 2.5 years since I purchased them?

yeah they'll write to you at the address on the bonds ps a couple of grand in bonds ON AVERAGE should only get one win every seven years (sorry)

    Sadly, no.

Not for your initial purchase. For this you must use the application form and send it off with the Anti Money Laundering documents, proof of PPSN and your cheque. Once you do this (and it can be for as little as €25) you will be registered for online purchases which will make your second and subsequent purchases a lot easier (notwithstanding the fact that the prize bond company’s processes and systems appear to be falling to bits recently)

I wonder is it as bad as the UK. NS&I have provoked the equivalent of a run on a bank by reducing their rates to zero (not Premium Bonds). Listen at 14 minutes here.

Interesting - although here the problem seems to be the increase in sales rather than an increase in repayments, doesn't it?

I haven't had any dealings with them for a few years, other than to get my reinvestment bonds. The message about COVID is gone from the website.

Unconnected with this, last Friday I did a calculation of the new bonds sold in the last two months, around €146 million. So that part of the system seems to be working.

When is the 1m draw? I need to pull my funds pretty soon. I would much prefer do it after the draw.

What will happen when I win the million later this month, and I have requested my winnings to come to me in new bonds, which would be over the 250k limit?

    :)

It's a major worry for all of us. But there is good news.

1.3 There is no limit on Prize Bond that are held as a result of

    (a) transfers to you in accordance with condition 17 (Death of a Holder) of the General Terms and Conditions; and/or

    (b) investment by you of proceeds of prize bonds winnings within 30 days of the draw date in which you won a prize.

There's no glitch in my house anyway. No win since June on 41k - and that was our only win of the year. Hopefully buying a house in 2021 so next week is likely to be our final 1M draw.

Careful, next week (11th) is the last day to PURCHASE bonds for inclusion in the €1m draw. The €1m draw is actually the one to be held on the 23rd !

Think I've a similar amount as you and bought at the same time. Had an early 50 euro but nothing since.

no i,ve had bonds for six or seven years or so.i had a lot more than 66k at one stage with differing results but cashed out to build my house,so as i said currently on 66k-last win july.best of luck with your bonds.

Nothing for me. 5782 €50 prizes in the Dec draws, up from 5697 in Nov.

Small coincidence. The 50K winner today is from Wicklow, brand new bond. The 50K also went to Wicklow exactly a year ago.

Nothing since Sep 11th on 100k, running at exactly 0.4% for the year, pathetic, need to buy a house and never bother with these timewasters again.
