    Move to Roscommon.

    45 prizes shown
Prize Value Winning Prize Bond Location

    €50 PJ008927 Roscommon
    €50 PJ010481 Roscommon

    €50 ADJ208458 Roscommon
    €50 ADJ209120 Roscommon
That's the whole point, I've no connection with the lovely town of Sligo, and Roscommon is a bit far from Dublin:D if I ever get that big payday it will be listed as a ''Dublin winner'', hungry relatives won't find me in Sligo:)

Strange to say I won 50 euros today from a batch that last won 6/3/20.
I hadn’t posted on here for months until last week when I could no longer resist a little whinge.
There might be some truth in the old saying. “The crying baby gets the bottle “.
Anyway,I’m glad to have a win after a long drought.

Nothing for me today. 5612 €50 prizes in Oct draws, up from 5548 in Sept. Looks like 2 out of 3 wins in Derry went to the same person, and 2 out of 6 in Tyrone.

Prize Value Winning Prize Bond Location

    €50 YR917356 Derry
    €50 YR919186 Derry

    €50 ADW930646 Tyrone
    €50 ADW933584 Tyrone

50K to 2013 bond, and looking at the Offaly results for the past few draws the winner might have made a major investment in bonds back then.

My bank has a daily limit of €2,500 on my debit card. I don't want to have to buy in numerous transactions. How have others bought more than this value in one go? Crazy that Prize Bonds don't take bank transfer.

Ring the bank and get them to up the limit, mine was set at 25k a day so done it over multiple days.

Not sure if this is helpful to you but how we did it was by bank draft. We closed our TSB savings account and they made out a bank draft to us, with which we purchased the prize bonds.

Called the bank before posting and the person I spoke to said this couldn't be done. Not very helpful from them. A draft might be easiest as suggested by another poster.

I went into AIB lately to ask if they could increase the limit on my card and the person behind the desk looked at me like I’d two heads.

So I used a bank draft instead, I made it out to An Post.

€50 for us this week - a very old bond.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,437 ✭✭✭Hibernicis

Could you put up a link to that please?

This is the AAM post containing the link

Note that the number of €50 prizes has increased considerably since the spreadsheet was last updated (2018) so you will need to update the "Total Prize bond fund" in the table on the second sheet accordingly to get an accurate result. (The spreadsheet is based on a prize fund of €3.1bn. Only the number of €50 prizes vary, the remainder of the prize structure is unchanged)

How old, as a matter of interest (the bond, not you!)

Nice to see an old bond winning, what series is it if you don't mind me asking, my oldest bond was purchased in February 1985, over 35 years old from the AF
    series.
Nothing for me today, last win 2nd October 2020 €50euro.

206 winners today, 3.66% were £5 bonds. The first Euro denominated bond was DL 000001. Well over half of the bonds in circulation now are triple letter, mid 2015 and later. This is reflected in the winning numbers every week.

I had a little too much time on my hands this evening and did a bit of a list from our PB online account :)

    AK - £10 - Sep 1988 - no wins

    AS - £10 - Jan 1993 - no wins

    KI - €1,000 - Apr 2009 - no wins

    KS - €1,000 - Jun 2009 - no wins

    ANF - €50,000 - Jan 2019 - 8 x €50 wins

Our last €50 win was in July 2020.

Interesting and yet each individual bond, they say, has an equal chance of winning, how does the random calculator actually work, I see today a 5 number bond won €50, 63 years old, the original purchaser could well be dead or very old, a bond from March 1957.

Nothing for me again. Second week of my increased stake. Increased it by approx 40%.

One win in approx 12 months. :(

Saying that every bond has an equal chance is a useful shorthand. But £5 bonds (worth €6.35) have a slightly better chance than Euro bonds worth €6.25.
