wow 2 €50 wins in the same draw and also 2 €50 wins in same draw in December, is this a record, I'd love to know how that random number calculator works, it might work for the million, up for grabs next Friday:):)

We've won €750 on the €100k since mid May and €100 pin our €20k batch that we bought about 5 months ago. This weeks €50 win was on a €500 batch that we've had for a few years.

    Hi

Just a query in relation to prize bonds:

I have a batch of prize bonds for the past 5 years. Over the past 2 years I've been noticing a common trend. I don't win for 4/5 months. Then all of a sudden I win €50, which I always reinvest, then I receive a string of wins (3-4 wins in the space of 2 months).

And this seems to repeat itself.

Has anyone else noticed a correlation between reinvesting and winning soon thereafter?

(And yes I do realize that my chances increase (albeit ever so slightly) when I reinvest)

    Thanks

No. Unfortunately. I do not seem to have any luck whatsoever. I have just over €60k in Prize bonds and have won a grand total of €550 since December 2014. 😟😟

That's about 0.4% per annum. A bit less than the 0.6% you would expect based on the current rate applicable, but probably not any worse than the net return you would have received if you had the money on deposit.

It's just pure random luck, I'v won 2 €50s today, my first time winning twice in a single draw, €50 each from 20k and 30k batch.
Total €650 wins since August 2015, 20k batch purchased August 2015, 30k batch purchased June 2016, 5 wins on 30k batch, 8 wins on 20k batch, but I'm greedy, I want the million, the million today goes to a very lucky punter in Wexford.
I live in hope, I dream big, there's always next Friday for the €50,000, but have to wait till June for the next million.

If you want to dream, play the lotto.

Speaking of dreaming, i must be. First win of the year today on €20k (since Nov).

A disgruntled 0.25% return so far, but a respectable €250 over 2 years.

Decided my AIB savings account is a waste of time and bored me, so I bought a few bonds. Will be ramping up to 15k by the end of next week and join you folk in bragging about my winnings (or lack there of).
Is there a place I can log into on their website to see how many bonds I am holding? Searched there but apart from the winnings tracker not much to be found.

On the aib savings you have if you haven't cashed out fully yet hold off as the generally pay out on interest first week of April. Be worth waiting to get that before moving to bonds.

Bond Tracker and Register. You have to create a user name and password and it is up to you to enter your own bonds. When you do this you can use Check Winning Numbers to see if you have won, after 12.30 pm on Fridays.

I also reinvest but I have not noticed this pattern. Checking back I see April 2016 and April 2015 were blank months which I hope is not a bad sign for next month. Otherwise I get anything between one and six wins a month, averaging out at about 2.5 over any given twelve month period.

    Draw Date Prize Value
    31 March 2017 €50
    31 March 2017 €50
    16 March 2017 €50
    17 February 2017 €50
    27 January 2017 €50
    27 January 2017 €50
    13 January 2017 €50
    30 December 2016 €50
    23 December 2016 €50
    16 December 2016 €50
    18 November 2016 €50
    04 November 2016 €50
    14 October 2016 €50
    14 October 2016 €50
    30 September 2016 €50
    09 September 2016 €50
    19 August 2016 €50
    29 July 2016 €50
    22 July 2016 €50
    22 July 2016 €50
    22 July 2016 €50
    08 July 2016 €50
    01 July 2016 €50

Ah for heavens sake, don't mention the fools who play the lotto, including myself, totally off thread here, but what do ye make of the Christmas Millionaire Raffle Ticket no 179740 purchased in Cork 21st December 2016 remains unclaimed, and time is running out with the deadline today, we dream of winning a million, somebody else wins a million and doesn't claim it, I had 3 of them raffle tickets at Christmas I received for Christmas presents and won nothing, I'II stick with my Prize Bonds, and no time limit for unclaimed dosh.

€50 on €20k is 0.25%, not 0.0025%. As we're only 3 months into the year, that equates to 1% per annum.
