    Great rifle for junior/starter is the Air Arms MPR, great rifle that you can upgrade as you progress.

    Should be plenty of local Air Arms dealers

    ;) 'Targets' can be tin cans or anything safe to shoot at .! ( No bottles or golf balls please )
    Have a look at the airgunbbs site where you will get no end of information.
    I'd stick to something that is european made and don't forget you can mail order from the UK when you have a licence in place.
