Mad Dog McCree, what a dreadful game, if it was a game.
And then there was that "holographic" effort Time Traveller.
Let's not forget the early Mega CD stuff, but at least they were on console and you could play as much as you wanted at home, Road Avenger and the like.

    Master of the Universe

The funny thing is, I can remember being a kid, seeing adds for games like that and thinking it was the future!

I thought my mam told me the truth about Santa that Christmas as they didn't have the cash for one, but on reflection I can see she was actually trying to save me from the horrors of FMV games.

Just think of all the poor children that had their Christmas ruined when they unwrapped a CD-i. under the tree. Them scars would last a lifetime.

And yet, some would say it still has some games worth getting. Especially if you were looking to complete a collection involving a green tunic-wearing chap for example... :P

I'd have a few myself, I'm not after a complete collection though. The Famicom Disk System has two games with nice artwork, I still need them and couple of the gb games. I'll post a picture over on the other thread of a small display I have in a book case, I couldn't be bothered digging out the others.

I will defend Road Avenger and Time Gal with my dying breath.

    A repro Chronotrigger
    PAL Format
    Japanese Donor Cart
    Repro sticker, Chronotrigger PAL
    Repro box, Chronotrigger PAL

And the price for this concoction?
A mere €300 to you good Sirs and Madames!
    http://www.adverts.ie/arcade-retro/chrono-trigger-pal-version/11302846

The ad comments are wonderfully adversarial too.
Doesn't consider it a repro, but rather a custom made collectors item.

I reckon the rest of his listings are dodgy too, spiders web of wires in each of those carts. Its everywhere, looking at ebay loads of "cib" big money games are repro.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,906 ✭✭✭CosmicSmash

The prices of snes games seem to be gone crazy judging by their other adverts.100 euro for a Castlevania with no instructions in a tatty box obscured by a box protector. They also sold a Super Metroid in what looked fairly well used to me but described as excellent by the seller for 150 euro.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

Not on adverts, but I thought he was shooting a bit high with this one.

people make the mistake of putting a huge value on the games on their account. to me they are worth nothing.

Well, that's current gen gaming for you.
At least, with retro and arcade, the thing you buy today isn't likely to be half the price in a year.

    NO OFFERS
    NO SWAPS
    WILL NOT SELL SEPARATE
    1,200 Euro

I'm guessing it will be NO SALE then.

But he downloaded the free to play "Haweken" to it. That's worth €50 alone.
