if MW3 is fun to play and not as hair pullingly frustrating as MW2 can be then I'll be happy out, and look at it this way, Spec Ops is a game in itself, co-op modes across all 16 multiplayer maps? could wind up playing that just as much as the MP itself.

now the question is do I buy the xbox or ps3 version? play more with the ps3 lads but the xbox tends to get stuff first (surely the map pack exclusivity should be remove for elite players? paying for a service you dont get at the same time as another console is a bit sh1te)

    PS3 ofc !!

And yeah, i haven't seen any news on the Elite/map pack exclusive thingy with xbox. Would be a bit ****ty if we still had to wait another month.

    1. Cos we can be SPAS buddies again and 2. I'll hit you around the head with the metal Mw3 case if you don't! ;)

Does anyone know if a single Elite sub will work for both your Ps3 copy and your XBL one?

Probably not, considering you have to link an Xbox live/Ps3 account to your elite account for stats etc. to show

I think it just comes down to why you play the game, having a perfectly balanced game is never what i'm expecting from a CoD game(CoD4 is not close to being a balanced game... they created pro mod for a reason). Over hyping the game can be anoying but thats CoD for ya.. dice have taken a leaf from their book when it comes to that as the hype surrounding BF3 is far beyond that of MW3, just look at the videos of anything CoD related on youtube, massive amounts of dislikes and trolling from BF fanboys. For me personally, yes im excited for both, im also excited about 3 or 4 other games around the same time.

Im not expecting MW3 to be a masterpiece, or be even close to cs in terms of balance or gameplay (No CoD has). What im expecting is something fun and fast paced to play with some friends.... and frankly... i think thats what most CoD players want. Maybe thats why I actually really liked the previous version of CoD.

p.s I might have seemed overly excited last nite on boards/twitter etc... but that was just a subtle troll as i was getting bored of all the headshaking and facepalming from some people ;)

Have I said COD4 is completely, 100% entirely balanced or you're just making it up as if I have said that.. again? If so, be a dear and point it out. I've said umpteen times out of the next gen COD games that it was far more balanced overall. Not that it was completely balanced.

As for being over excited. You were wetting yourself for BF3 and their trailers that have already been shown. Some of us don't allow hype and trailers to dictate our judgement. Me? I'm chuffed by it appearance wise only, namely the urban setting as I'm not a fan of open maps for the most part. The Frostbite engine looks wonderful also. I have little experience in BF gameplay so won't judge the game based on trailers like some people do.

Not a crime to be excited by something :)

Not a crime to have a pessimistic approach to the upcoming COD game, so not be overhyped and then let down by false promises once again.

dunno if this has been answered but does Elite work with pre-Blops COD games? does it apply to MW2 or WAW as well?

No, only works with Blops and MW3 - probably future COD games too

I think theres a loyalty program for the older Cod's but I doubt the stats etc will be implemented.

To be honest, I think Elite is now something I will definitely buy no matter what. For less than the price of all the DLC's which I would have gotten anyway I get this stuff sounds good to me. Pre-ordering my hardened next week.

Hype has got to me early this time round and have now reached the stage where I can't work out how I ever got by without Elite! :(

So me and the bro are thinking of splitting and getting the hardened edition with elite on ps3. We're just wondering will elite work on both of our accounts otherwise he'll be pretty pissed. :pac:

Hmm.. i'd imagine the map packs and such would... not sure about the stats and stuff tho.

And that doesn't seem to include the cost of the Titles themselves. So in addition, you'd be expected to buy Modern Warfare 3 as well as pay $50 annually for a bunch of online features like stat tracking and DLC.

    http://consumerist.com/2011/09/call-of-duty-subscription-service-will-cost-50-a-year-include-downloadable-maps.html

Not how I would like to see FPS games headed. Not at all. Unless that service somehow merits the $50/year I think I'd rather keep buying crate keys in TF2.

But they won't, because the kiddies love their CoD, and mammy will buy them their 50quid subscription. Therefore it'll sell millions! And that's just the kids. That's before you even get around to everyone else who'll also pay :(

I'm out. No way I'm paying that.

We all know this thread will end up in fanboy fight.

I will honestly wont pay that. It's a joke.

The way i see it is your just paying in advance for the map packs and getting all these other features included. If you are a die hard CoD fan it would turn out cheaper to get this instead of buying the packs as they come out, plus you get those extra stat tracking features.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,517 ✭✭✭Outkast_IRE

jesus compare that to the amount of content given for free or very cheap to battlefield users.
As long as EA plays this right they will snatch a lot of COD fans.

I really hope not, because a good old fashioned giving out would be a lot more entertaining :D

Really 50 euro to play a 1st ps a year its nuts !!!

Ok you might get the all the DLC with it but there just makeing you buy everything before you even like the game !!!

Considering for that 50 euro you can pick up a good few games 2nd hand
