    I say nothing generally.
I've literally been red in the face with anger at times with some of the people I've had to work with.
It's amazing how much stress is relieved when you know you're going to work with people you get on with.

Laugh at them. If they are real assholes there's a good chance others think so too so make the most of it.

Had a mate who worked in a builders providers. Customer would order somthing or whatever, then turn up at the appointed hour to collect same. Which had usually not yet arrived/been totally forgotten/turned up and was the wrong thing. Customer would go off on a rant, the usual "this is feckin typical..blah blah...rubbish service here...blah blah....ye just don't give a damn...blah blah..."
And, cool as a cucumber, obviously not giving a single flying sh1te, my mate would almost always respond "And how does that make you feel???"
This either p1ssed the customer off more, or made them laugh(I don't think my mate really cared which) So, when dealing with an 4rse, why not end their rant with "And how does that make you feel?" It does not generally do much for your career advancement though.

    ^ This.

I'd make sure I'd as little dealings with them as possible, be professional in my dealings with them but walk away with a face on me like I'd just stood in dog-shit.

I'd keep conversations with them short, sharp and to the point. Though as Biggins said, if pushed to it I'd tear strips off them.

I usually put up with the bullshit for a while then if I'm pissed off I'll go to my boss and make an official complaint. Then I'll sit back and enjoy my grovelling apology. Then I hatch a plan to get them fired somehow. I"m petty like that me.

Like most things in life you have to learn to rise above it. Treat it as just a job. I usually try and be nice, courteous and professional which usually drives them mad. Fortunately, I haven't worked with too many out and out assholes but everybody has their moments.

ignore them most of the time but tonight i decided to play a trick on her.

Me and my mother were supposed to be off on the 2nd of july so had basically decided to have my bday session on that nite, but we realised that this girl had wrote her name down for a night off leaving only one other person to cover the shift. and even at that, the person left to do the shift is new so aint the best! and Its a saturday night so need at lease 2 people on!

The rule where we work is when u want a night off you find out whos night off it is and talk to them and ask them to swap. We basically d out own roatas between us as our boss is there 7 nights anyway!

But she had marked a day off which was her night to work (she does this the whole time and never thinks of saying it to anyone. this is the 5th day she has wrote in she wanted off since start of may and she only does 3 nights a weeek anyway) so we told her we had our party that night so she had to work. she then procedded to tell out boss that noone was able to cover the shift and he would be there with only the new girl! My boss blew a fuse at her and basically told her, if her or my mother aint there that night, she has no job to come back to!

Twas sooo funny watching her reaction! She'll think twice the next time

There are some people who are physically incapable of wiping their own arses.

It's a dirty job but someone's got to do it.

For a short time that someone was me.

How do you deal with it ?

    Treat it like your own.

Depends on who it is in question. If said asshole was a higher up or someone with clout. You would think twice about certain things.

Just to be clear...you share a cigerette with the asshole, or with the person whose asshole you smacked...or with both?

If they are proper a**hole I usually use a nice blend of sarcasm and a bit of abuse disguised as banter and see how things go :D

I would be the type of person who is always messing with friends and throwing abuse around (think a lot of Irish people kinda are) and I generally just throw a lot of this at someone whos being a dick to see how they respond. If its gets out of hand I simply say it, most of them aren't used to be confronted over being a knob and will usually back off.
    Just my 2 cents tho:)
